Don’t think that’s how it works. Pretty sure Xavi knows who the more realistic players are from training.
Nah.. it can be that players step up after being given more important roles and minutes and also need that experience of real game time to improve as players and reach their potential.

Can't only judge a player in a training setting.

Just dont get how Torre cant replace Gavi today.

How bad does Gavi have to be before subbing him becomes that option?

Even if not for Torre.. can move Raphinha to AM and put Torres out RW.

Apparently he complained about the pitch and kick-off time.

Nice of him to explain to us why Barca played like crap.

Where are those two stooges INIESTAGOAT and Serghei? Where are those monkeys. Our lead is only 11 points and with our history there's a good chance we blow this massive advantage.

The red flags were there when Xavi was a player. Making excuses and ranting about how our way of playing football was the true way. Now look at this clown. I didn't watch the match but if it was anything like Girona he should be sacked at the end of the season regardless of whether we win La Liga or not.
He has no idea how to set up a team, adapt to different conditions or recruit players. He wants the club to spend big on a RB Foyth and wants to add to our long list of players over 30.
The best thing for him to do is join Mourinho as his assistant. That should be his peak. Rubbish manager. So sick of this club and the clowns who are destroying it.

Some here will say we are still in the "building" phase.

A building phase with the transfer of
Inigo Martinez - 32
Gundogan - 33
Messi - 36
Carrasco - 30

Yeah sure....
Exactly. Building implies you are building for the future and you're willing to take short term pain for long term gain. If we keep recruiting players over the age of 30 we will be rebuilding forever.

"I’ve been criticized a lot for my comments on the pitches at times, but for us it is essential.”

So... what happens when all these crappy Liga teams start growing out their grass to destroy your whole plan, if it's that essential?

Even if it's true it shouldn't be said else risk being targeted with that tactic going forward.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Xavi to have this team play good football after over a year in the job and spending a lot of money on signings he wanted.

I'm not expecting prime-Pep champagne football. Just some entertainment over this terrible dross he's served for most of the season.

He's coaching FC Barcelona. You're expected to get the results and play good football here. It's something Xavi knows perfectly well considering he has spent years shitting on the likes of Mourinho for his defensive football only for his team to play like crap too.

Used to be a motto of 'take the ball pass the ball' at Barca.

Now we have Xavi playing CMs who make 11 passes in a game and doesnt sub them off.

He knows that.
Problem is he doesn't have a clue how to do it.

Him staying another year and deciding AGAIN on transfers and squad will ruin us far more than what people think.
Laporta MUST pull the trigger this summer

At the very least he should not be allowed to decide which players to sign.

9 games remain. Thankfully Madrid were awful in this last couple months so we still have a very comfortable cushion of 11 points. Good we won the Clasico as it could have been a lot more dicey.

To lose the title we would have to lose 4 out of the next 9 games or some similar loss of points whilst Madrid would need to win every one of their 9 games remaining, which neither situation seems that realistic to me.

For our attacking woes we do have a very good LaLiga defense scheme, keeping like 20 clean sheets in 29 games, and we have only lost 2 LaLiga games all season, so we would have to make a monumental collapse to choke this lead.

Madrid on the other hand are balancing a CL campaign with their league games and never been consistent enough to win 9 on the trot (in fact, Atletico are close to overtaking them and might even end up 2nd themselves).
So LaLiga is basically still in the bag as we would have to go on an abysmal run of form to choke it.

Only realistic scenario where we somehow do that badly is none of the currently injured players return in good time and we have more injuries to key players (Araujo/MATS being most important at the moment).

Can we get Txiki back? Or his second in command at Man City.

More than anything else we need a proper Sporting Director/Director of Football. Someone that has a strong scouting background and knows how it is to build a squad for an elite team or at least one trying to pose as one.

Someone who will do the work and not let the President or the manager dictate the terms and handpick signings based on feelings, limited knowledge or being buddies with agents.

Keep Alemany for the busiess side of the football management/operations, but we need someone with vision leading the team at the management corporate level.

Was a big mistake to hire Jordi Cruyff who seemingly only does or endorses what Xavi wants.

Relax. Xavirde knows best.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in renewing their interest in former target and Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta in the upcoming summer.
WTF ??? What would Azpi add to the team that we don't have ??? We need an offensive minded right back, not a defensive minded one that's past his prime
