He is totally to blame for parking the bus in the 2nd half.
As many said, inviting pressure will make you concede sooner or later.
Even the 1st goal, was unsaveable by the keeper, but Rudiger and Tchouameni had already warned.
If you leave the field open for long-range shots, it might happen.

In any case, Xavi is laughable when he says we need 5/6 chances to score.
It might be true, but we didn't create any big chances yesterday apart from Gundo's goal, which was lucky.
Had the game ended 0-0, it would have been the most fair result

"We deserved to win. We controlled Madrid well.We are frustrated and annoyed because we deserved more, but we have to keep going. We played well and, while the result is bad, the performance was a step forward." - Xavi

He is deluded if thinks that.

Controlled majority of first half but Reals changes Xavi couldnt react to and his subs made team worse.

What is the 'step forward'?

Losing last two home games to Real when had beat them in four of five previous games and being much more control in majority of those than were yesterday.

I also think we can go on a streak once players get back.
But... Madrid already had much harder schedule than Barca so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

He needs to drop Romeu altogether once FDJ and Pedri get back.

The midfield was getting over run even before making it worse with Romeu.

Gavi and Fermin could barely find the ball and were chasing shadows in that second half.

Something needed to change..just not Romeu to make it easier for likes of Modric.

Must be a dream for likes of Modric to come on v a midfield three of Gavi, Gundo and Romeu.

Gundo is class and best of the three but he isnt an athlete and as with almost all mids needs those around him to balance out the midfield.

Thats not true. He has started Romeu a lot and took him on yesterday when game in balance.

Tries his best to get Romeu minutes despite his level would be more accurate.
He's yet to start an important game and Xavi even changes the setup to make that happen  He gets minutes, because he's our only DM. That's the only reason. If we could have replenished the midfield with Pedri or Frenkie he would have been nigh obsolete.

He is playing far more minutes than his ability warrants and what are the 'important games'? Real at home? He played too many minutes v Real whether started or not.

Xavi is finding ways to play him far too often.

Should be nowhere near Barca team or used this much.

He isnt the 'only DM' when others can play that posittion better than him.

That excuse of him being 'only DM' is type of shite Xavi probably thinks also.

Agree, but we simply have limited resources in midfield with our injuries. Getting Fermin (or Gavi) out yesterday was needed. But when you look at the bench.. oh well.

*not just only DM, but only midfielder on the bench. Xavi deserves a ton of credit for Fermin, but La Masia only gets you so far.

Gavi was poor in second half and barely getting on ball/giving it away too much... but still rather him deeper than Romeu.

Also moving Gavi to AM didnt work at all.. he still did nothing and was miles off Tchou who I assume Xavi was trying to put there to stop.

Bringing on Romeu made team worse.

He plays far too much for a player of his level.

I like Gundo and think he was best mid yesterday but Xavi is signing him and Romeu and causing issues of lacking legs in midfield when have them as options together. Adding Gavi to those two makes it worse again. That is not a balanced midfield at all.

Gundogan pretty much exposed the dressing room yesterday.
Everyone at Barca is way too relaxed and laid back.
This is on the manager. He's supposed set high standards and the players are supposed to meet them.
Since Lucho , all of our managers have been trash.
That idiot Valverde really let the rot set in and we haven't recovered since then.
Keep blaming Valverde
