Speaking to DAZN which broadcast the game in Spain, the Catalans' head coach revealed that he thought his men "dominated the first sixty minutes, but when you don't score [to make it] 2-0 football has these things".

"We need five or six [chances] to score a goal and they score two or three goals with two or two and a half [chances]," Xavi lamented.

Xavi saw Madrid satisfied with Bellingham's equalizer, and happy to settle for a draw until an "unfortunate cross" from Dani Carvajal arrived for Bellingham to sneak the winner through Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's legs.

A "very bad result" left a bitter taste in Xavi's mouth, but he still thought it was a good game which his men didn't deserve to lose.

Barca planned the match "very well" in Xavi's opinion, yet he conceded that Madrid made his men suffer in the last few minutes.

"Honestly I think we were superior," Xavi said. "But Madrid, if you forgive them, have these things [to win matches]."

"In the dressing room they talk about a penalty, but today we didn't lose because of the referee [and instead] because we didn't convert the chances and we took an undeserved defeat," he concluded on the result.

Not his fault Madrid can bring on Modric and Camavinga, and Barca had only some players back from injury, romeu and a kid.

I like the setup he came with today, we should probably still to it until we get all our players back.

Always sucks to lose a clasico, but I take comfort in the fact that we were the better team by a fair amount.

I hope we can beat them in the return leg.

Also we gotta watch out for atletico.

I agree with every word, we didn't take out chances

Season is long, but some players are far from the form of last season. Need much better if the team plans to retain the title.

The only goal you scored was a complete gift from Madrid, you donkey.

Subs were absolutely necessary. Team was gassed and we didn't have better options on the bench

Two reasons why we lost

Ter statue. Straight booty. Should have got rid 5 years back.

Score stuck at 1-0. Missing chances after chances after chances.

I could see it coming missing so many chances

Randomly thinking about our best XI when everyone is fit, I think we all know what that is now.

Going off Felix performance today, we basically have zero pace in our front 6.

That being said, no shot we should buy Felix this summer, need someone with his level of skill but also pace and with rouque coming in for lewa, would should be set in that department.

Barca havent adressed pace in the front line or the DM area as has always been said.

Not one DM signed and not one pacey player up top signed despite the hundreds of millions given and most money Barca have spent in years.

Stil Barca have a good squad and at a time there is no clear complete squad out there but need to adress the issues many have being said need to be addressed for a while now.
