he didn't play much recently so fully expect him to play all 3 matches, course get subbed off after the half hour mark if we're comfortably leading. on the other hand iniesta would be extra fresh for the upcoming games, so big expectations for him

Yea, IMO he's been a bit off for a while. He doesn't play those creative defense splitting passes anymore, one reason we struggle big time IMO is because Xavi is not as majestic as before.
Yea but tbh almost all of those were utility/elementary passes, yea he's always had that in his game, but whats always made us so great was that he would offer something majestic in the attacking role out of nowhere (i.e. ucl final last year), hasn't been doing that for a while IMO.

sometimes i feel it's best to start without him, it boils my blood when there is a potential counter attack and this against a mega bus parking team yet he slows the fucking play down to a crawl and starts the sideways passing engine again. for fucks sake take a risk and get the ball moving forward

yea, I am sure a lot of us can make 126 lateral passes. How many long range passes in the forward direction did he make? I mean thrusting passes.

He's been below par this whole season, it looks like the injuries are taking its toll, it's like he's not fully recovered... I wish he could rest instead of going to the Euros, but oh well...

Yes, he was. But I also think lampard did a good job marking him today. Maybe that was their plan, nulify Xavi.

yeah..Messi and Alexis made some good runs and he completely ignored them. Not to mention that lately even Busi seems to take more risks then him and that he doesn't shine in the big games like he used too.
