Xavi looked angry, when Pep subbed him off for Alexis.

Looks more mad at himself than anything.

Had two opportunities that on another day he'd bury so I'm sure he was pissed about that.

Still the best midfielder in the world.

It's true Xavi hasn't been playing well for a few games now but you expect a little drop in form every now & then he will get back to 100% shortly hopefully against Chelsea, He was unlucky he didn't score against RM but I think we just had one of those days & RM had the luck with them this time.

At least now he can get some rest in the League games

The commentator over here said Xavi is not 100% fit.He still have a problem with his foot.
I do not think he was angry because he got subbed more of frustration of his little injury, missed chanche, match etc etc.

Xavi's time is slowly ending :(

No it is not, bro. he has just had a long injury plagued season. Xavi is not even near 100 percent. he could use much more time to rest and hopefully we will rest him for most of the remaining Liga games. Pep was very wise pulling him out of the match. it was the right decision and Pep got it.

Xavi is not in form and he is not contributing enough, Thiago should take his place while he recovers physically. Xavi used to contribute with the tempo(he still does it although a bit slow lately) and with some assists(many of them at key moments). He has not assisted constantly in a long time. We need Thiago if we want to recover some of that. There is a big problem when your main assist man and your main goalscorer is the same person

Xavi: “it’s in our own hands to finish with a good season”

ANNA SEGURA

The Barça midfielder reckons: ”the league might be lost, but we’ve got a Cup Final ahead, we’ve already won three titles and we can still reach the Champions League final”

Reflecting on the Madrid defeat, Xavi believes: “we didn’t play a bad game, but we were not at the excellent level which we normally are”

Xavi Hernández is clear that there is no time for regrets about Saturday’s result and the fact that it means retaining the title would be a “miracle”, with Tuesday’s game against Chelsea looming large: “we are playing for the chance to make the Champions League final, that says everything, The fans are intelligent enough to know that we will be playing for so much on Tuesday and we really want them behind us, as they always have been on the big occasions to help us fight back”.

Five out of six

Although he accepts that : “the league title is practically impossible”, Xavi insists that the team can be proud of the season so far: “the league title might be lost, but we’ve got a Cup Final ahead, we’ve already won three titles and we can still reach the Champions League final. Of the six competitions we were in this season, we still have the chance to come away with five – we are just missing the Cup and the Champions League. We’ll keep fighting, because we know that it’s in our own hands to finish with a good season”.

Gracious in defeat

Looking back at Saturday’s defeat, Xavi believes: “we didn’t play a bad game, but we were not at the excellent level which we normally are. We had the ball and dominated, but we didn’t have the chances we usually do and Madrid just took advantage of that”. Finally, Xavi insisted that Barça could still hold their heads high: “we always try and win, we are competitive but what characterises us is that we also know how to deal with defeat – we did after we lost the Cup Final and we congratulated them then - that’s just part of the game and that’s the way we are”.
