Not sure if late to this news but was apparently offered Dortmund job for 2 years. Declined because only interested in managing Barca or Al-Sadd. Doesn't bode well for me.

I don't think that was a very plausible rumour. Personally I wouldn't want him to coach another top European team before us though, but I guess that's only me.

News from supposedly reliable sources but can't be sure of course. I'm kind of sick of hiring these managers with no ucl club experience so for me would love to see how he does in dortmund. Almost the perfect precursor to joining barca. Young hungry squad, don't buy proven players, used to playing attacking football. Also not too much pressure, but just enough (minimum ucl qualification). Seems like a great stepping stone compared to where he is.

They hired Marco Rose from Monchengladbach back in February only a few weeks after Favre was dismissed, can't see that Xavi rumour being true at all. They got plenty of good coaches in Germany to look at before Xavi.

Offer for Xavi could be just "an interview offer" which he has declined.
Also, reliable source is Catalan iirc, not a source close to BVB or Brazil NT

Font's words is not a rumour. It's inside info into the mind of Xavi who has been talking with him about his vision of Barca for the last 5 years.
So, no spare me the downplaying, it's not a rumor

That's if you have not already 'read' through the lines of various Xavi's statements the last 2 years. Because you could see from there that he does not 'get it'.

Yh don't get it either. Im not a fan of appointing Xavi , but it is a bit hilarious to hand out L's while you are cartwheeling for Koeman who ended relying on all those seniors when the going got tough.

Dude, I am not cartwheeling for anyone. Other people here cartwheel.
I have criticized Koeman for playing all of them. Just read my posts.
(By the way, this issue is not entirely on Koeman playing them, but it also touches on the player power, as all of them have an Amigo status that a coach alone cannot change)

But, it's different to criticize someone for playing them in crucial games while he has introduced tons of new elements in the way of playing and has developped youngsters (Koeman),
from criticizing someone who thinks Pique is still the best CB in the world, Busi is still the best DM in the world, and Barca should go with them changing only other peripheral positions to restore the exact way of playing under Pep (Xavi)

The first is a bad personnel selection, the second is a faulty vision and plan to begin with.
Not comparable.
Try again

It isn't a rumour, and maybe an L for those wanted Xavi.
But isn't it a bigger L for those who advocated for Font for a whole year? And only left him for Koeman's sake? :p

It's not a win or loss for anyone. Barcelona are losing, they just had their worst year in over 10 years.

Those who are on Cruyffs, Peps and Xavis side, who liked the way they played between 08-12 should be happy that Xavi still see the quality in these kind of players and think he could use them well.
Those who prefer Koeman, Vidal, Griezmann or Wijnaldum, Emerson etc - I don't even know what to put here, they prefer whatever they feel is still fresh, and blame everyone older - will obviously laugh about it. My question is still - why Barcelona? I don't see many from the city writing here... They like blue/red? Why don't they support any other club, with players of a different kind?

It's a shame Font wasn't appointed so we could see who wins/loses, what will happen now is that another year goes wasted under Koeman, not using these GOATS to their full potential. Koeman still uses the players mind you, and Busquets, Messi and Alba are probably the best three players of the team still, but the general play is not suited for these players.

I only read some months ago that he regarded Mats, Pique, Alba, Busquets and Messi as the best on their position still, and I wholeheartedly agree, despite the massive critique some of them get here.

A few, if not all, of them obviously need the right system to play to their full potential. Koeman didn't bring the right system, but still they overshone the players that so many put so high hopes on - and still the persons putting so much hope on these mediocre players think that IF ONLY we get rid of "the amigos" everything will be fine, then Semedo, Wijnaldum, Vidal, Donnarumma and Depay will destroy football...

Pique was never a top 20 CB the way you judge them but he was good enough to play in the best team of all time.
About the RB you misunderstood something I wrote three months ago and keep posting about it. You don't understand anything about tactics or team disposition but only want to make cheap points without trying to understand.
