Say what you want about the sheikhs and what they are and what not, but it's reasonable for them to expect the club president to be the one taking part in the actual negotiations here.

It's like one CEO to another in a business transaction. Don't know why Laporta don't want to do it. Not like he had any issues taking money from shady Uzbek investors who also take a part in various human rights violations...during his last stint as club president.

So def not a morality thing here.

He's spoken out against Bartomeu and the Qatar deal on a few occasions. Perhaps it's something to do with that.

If Laporta is lazy to travel to Doha and spend one day of his life to get a new manager than he should resign. He should not be in charge of Barca. Simple as that.

Ben Ayad Achraf who knows a lot more about Asian football than the Spanish journalists says that if Al-Sadd don't want him to leave, Xavi won't. He says that Xavi doesn't want conflict with his current club at all and will only leave with the blessing of the sheik, therefore, it is all down to Barca to convince them in negotiations. It seems like if we want him we're paying that 5 million

Well Laporta is the one to blame if this falls apart. He should have gone there in order to show some respect. It was clear that Sheik wanted to talk with him.

Talk for what? The owner of the club is a narcissistic kid and like most other Qataris, he is pretentious. The deal execution should be limited to the CEOs of both clubs, Oscar Grau and Al Ali.

If that part about Xavi is true,
then
LMAOL

it will be much more than the 5m clause.
There will be demands for sponsorships and other stuff..

Pretentious lmao, we're asking them to let their coach go for free mid-season, the least they can ask for is Laporta to come and talk himself because he is unsettling their whole squad, if I was them I wouldn't give them the courtesy of negotiating over a fee if they can't be bothered to send their main man who's asking them to let him go for free

This is how it works in civilized world mate. Not in Qatar. Either he adapts or we will fail to close the deal.
