It’s completely irrelevant what other coaches do at smaller clubs. There are lots of them and some might hit it right by pure chance. It rarely translates (not denying that someone could be the real deal as well).

The standards between big and small clubs are incomparable.
It depends what they achieve.
If Michel makes a title race with Girona that's nonsense. How can it possibly be harder to compete for a title with Barcelona than Girona.

Your post makes sense in clubs where they have radically reduced expectations, like finishing top10 or in EL spots or something, because that might not translate to competing at the very top, but they are currently 1st in the league, ie already competing at the top.

I mean they rarely really compete. We are 7 games in.

The best coach in league is not the one that wins the league each season.

Who knows how Girona coach would do at Barca or Xavi would do if history did not get him a job like Barca so early.

Agree, but as long as Xavi wins titles and we show progress there’s no need to gamble. We already did with him and it’s been good so far (people here might disagree xD).

We have no good measurements for coaches, players are easier to rate.

Yeah I dont think anyone is saying sack Xavi for Girona coach though as far as can see.

Xavi will be judged as Barca coaches are more so this season than last but thats to be expected.

From there when his time is up the club should consider coaches at lower teams also if have done a 'good' enough job.

Depends, what's the overall goal, where do we want to be as a club, are we going in the right direction.

I feel like we're in the third season now and still have no established identity and still chopping and changing tactics to find what works. It doesnt feel like the project will win titles long term.

I would be happy with Xavi if he keeps winning titles and then only if a top manager comes around we sack him. But I don't really think we are going to win more leagues.
It's also against a Madrid who have the worst squad they've had in a long time and a manager who is renowned for not winning domestic leagues so it would be disappointing not to win it this season. I get the feeling most B or A tier managers can manage a LaLiga win with Barca but also that some could go beyond that.

They won't have Ancelotti forever and they are going to start investing big in the squad in the future so it wont be that easy going forward.

Need managers that are either established as high class, or to discover one. Xavi is a good, inspired choice from the new gen. Other managers that could improve him start with Tuchel at a minimum and go up from there into Klopp and, at last, Pep territory.

In short, Xavi is the best realistic option. Likes of ETH, Flick, Pochettino, these have been disappointing in recent years. Only Klopp and especially Pep would be sure upgrates on Xavi at the moment.

The main problems of the club have very little to do with Laporta and Xavi. They are least of our problems. Our huge problem is on finances and ability to spend money to bring in top class players and elevate the squad. Even a child could tell you that.

You name the one guy, Tuchel, who is in fact very overrated and probably wouldnt improve Xavi.

He will be sacked by Bayern come year's end and should have been last season if not for the psyops Dortmund.

OK. Then nobody but Klopp and Pep. Good luck bringing that sort of manager.

No you just rate the wrong guys.

Then go ahead, rate somebody that can join Barca and has proven he is top manager. Or even a manager that is gonna become great soon. I'm all ears.

Some of the hyped names from 2-3 years ago have had a mare in recent seasons. Some got sacked in the process.

This is an ironic statement given Xavi hasnt proven that himself yet and is right at the start of his own career.
