Simple question since some seem to keep on trolling threads with this issue so best to have it here.

Xavi won the league and had better "Results" in the league so far but in the three years he was our manager he failed to establish an actual long-term functioning system that benefited the team and we played only well in small purple patches and him getting carded or sent off far much much over every negative decision on the pitch got tiring after awhile along with his press conferences.

While our league form went to shit under Flick in December and now, I think he's done a far better job at establishing a system and getting these group of players to play to their maximum potential and strengths when we are on it despite us still having financial problems and our CL form improved massively.

For me, it's going to be Flick IMO regardless if Xavi won a La Liga title. There are far to many negative aspects of Xavi in my eyes as a coach.

Not the biggest fan of Flick but definitely take him over Xavi, despite the bad. A fresh approach he's been working to implement will definitely leave its mark here, even if Hansi himself doesn't.

By the way, Xavi has burned bridges with the squad by publicly criticizing the players. Those expecting him to do better in comparison this season would be in for a surprise. That ship has sailed. Mentally not up to it.

Thankful for what Xavi has done but rate Flick higher.

Which is not a crazy thought as Flick is 15 years his senior. Xavi’s coaching career just started.

I was going to bring this up yesterday but didn’t feel up to it in the end. Xavi staying was ever an option. Maybe in future.

What I want from a coach is constant improvement, a positive trajectory. Results will follow.

Xavi did that when he took over which culminated in a league win. After that the curve was pretty flat, nothing improved really.

Flick took that flat end and made it point upwards again. He has improved this side immensely regarding playstyle and results. Our top level is very high compared to Xavi who was more suited to being an underdog.

There are still things to improve, like consistency. I also think Flick can become better at rotating. We'll see if the curve keeps pointing up but I believe the decision to change from Xavi to Flick was definitely correct.

Too early to tell. Yeah, we play more entertaining football now, but is it sustainable and does it bring results? We'll have to see.

I appreciate Xavi greatly and see him as the biggest figure in this club’s history after Cruyff and Messi. Also supported him greatly during his time as manager.
But I have to be honest, and say that Flick is better in so many ways, he improved the way the club plays by playing actually entertaining football and we have reaped the rewards by seeing legendary games against Bayern, Real Madrid and Sevilla. Although, he could improve in some things like LaLiga, I have to say that the league is more of the players becoming complacent than Flick’s mistakes. Just like how we became complacent after we won the league in 2023 in the previous season.

If only this thread would end the Xavi bs in other threads doubt it will.

That's the idea.

First competitive match was on August 17, La Liga win against Valencia. So more than 5 months. Think we have a very good sample of matches and against very tough opponents (Madrid, Bayern to name few).

I am happy with overall football and Barca already won a trophy. We look well against top opposition.

Various statistical data confirm the dominant nature of this team (goals, possession, chances..).

Flick also radiates more positivity and forged great relationship with players very fast. Something that surprised me considering the language barrier.

This is not a great team in terms of players but football is very good and it's an obvious improvement to last seasons.
