Made the same point before. When these two played and linked up with Messi and Busquets, that four was unable to be passed off the park. It was just amazing to watch top teams with top players COMPLETELY concede to Barca's superiority and park the bus. Chelsea, Man United and Inter as examples (away at least for the latter) totally acknowledged they could not beat Barca in a game of football and had to sit back and defend for their lives and hope to get lucky on the break. It worked a few times but everyone knows Barca were by far the best team of that era and - for me - the best I have ever seen.
Xavi and Iniesta were two geniuses. For some reason they are forgotten now when discussing great players and even guys like fucking Henry, Lewandowski and Ibrahimovic are talked about more - two of who were in the same team at Barca and shown to be far less important than the two maestros. Maybe modern football fans are just clueless and cannot see beyond forwards.
As for Silva (who I am a big fan of) and Fabregas (not really a fan of at all) being able to replace Iniesta - come off it

I saw that article months ago btw, where he came third in best players of the 21st century. Clearly cos it was by ESPN and he works on American TV.
How is he better than Xavi and Iniesta when they ran every game at every level against every opponent? And his best performances came in the Premier League only?

He said this, reads like he agrees with us on Iniesta, not Catta (who I do rate as a poster, but said Silva and Fabregas could replace Iniesta). I think vegitot agrees with us though the way it is written is vague. The first sentence reads like a statement but he's actually mocking the idea, for example, with the lmao. The second paragraph and third are much more clear and I agree with them too.
