Sure, it's a bit surprising PSG is not after this kid since you love Brazilians and have a need at the position.
What I've initially laughed about for a split second after I've misread PSV for PSG was just an idea of Barça loaning Couto (or any player for that matter) to PSG so they would develop him and then he would return. This just doesn't make any sense especially not considering bad relationship between the clubs.
I wasn't aware Brazilians can't leave to Europe before they're 18. If so then hopefully he'll still play for Coritiba and get some top division experience before coming to Europe.
I know he would take a non-EU spot and that's why keeping him at Barça B and then loan him to La Liga club would make sense since he could apply for Spanish citizenship in 2-3 years. But if he'll develop into what many people including me believe he can non-EU spot or not won't really matter because we'll find a way to keep him. If he would be good enough for just a backup RB spot for a few years then him getting a EU citizenship would be more important to keep him at the club.
Agreed about Barca B and a loan idea though we'd have to see how he'd progress at Barça B and also what will happen with Semedo, Roberto and Emerson. We'll see soon if Setien can get more out of Semedo if not we'll probably listen on offers this summer. We need money and if we'll get offers around/over 40M I think we'll seriously consider selling unless he'll make a big improvement over the next few months .We don't know yet if Setien sees Roberto more as a RB or a midfielder. And we don't know his opinion about a possible early "return" of Emerson. So a lot of unknowns that can influence our short-term plans with Couto.
Barca B and off to Real Betis to replace Emerson?
Sounds like a good plan to me.
We can't sign every talented player so we'll always miss on a lot of them whether that's to Madrid or other clubs. Also, if a player wants to sign with another club for whatever reason(s) we can't do much. I prefer to concentrate on players who wants to play for Barça and hope at least one or two of them will maybe have some kind of first team future.
BTW, I'm still disappointed we didn't get Palacios even though I like Akieme.
