Well yeah. When it wasn't signed and sealed as rumoured agreement broke it was obvious we let another one slip. Not enough commissions in this deal to get it done asap.

What a joke

How can we kick this board out, I'm serious.

Its not because of losing some random Brazilian kid, but we never ever do a sure shot transfer like Real Madrid does.

We signed De Jong at last minute, snatching from PSG. We risked our relationship with Gremio over Arthur, we massively overpayed for Dembele and Coutinho, then we upset Roma by snatching Malcom.

What does it takes to properly sign a player without so much drama. Its FC Barcelona, not some third tier underperforming pub level club.

We are always used as a pawn then thrown out like a bone like some used thing. So sick of this board.

A 168cm fullback. I won't moan except he is next Roberto Carlos.

1-He is just 2 cm shorter than Alba
2-Listed height at that age isn't accurate.
Though I won't moan about a 17 years old kid who might never make it to top level.
Not sure if City is good for him tbh, have any of their youth talents make a real break through in the 1st team? Like being a real starting player.

Lollll.

These days, these so called Brazilian super-talents actually making it is basically a dime in a dozen.

Still waiting for other super-talents such as Arthur, Jesus, Paqueta, Vinicius, Paulinho (leverkeusen), Gabigol, Pedrinho, Everton...and so on to do anything relevant in world football.

Missing out of these Brazilian super-talents mean very little these days, dawg.

(No offense to all the Brazilian brehs on here)

Are you saying level of Brazilian player is lowering? They still have one of the best national yes. At least deepest.

This is the thing, we are willing to spend huge money on the likes of Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann and Rodrigo (?) etc. yet we are so stingy when it comes to spending money on young and future talent. Totally short-sighted.

Florentino Perez is sooooooooooooooooo much better.

Regardless of them working out or not, that's now Yan Couto, Reinier Jesus, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr. the last few years Barca have been first on and tried to sign, but ultimately failed to secure. Takefusa Kubo too.

The club say they don't want to bow down to their agents or pay kids that much money, yet they won't blink twice paying for bums instead and paying their agents and their "guy" in Brazil huge commissions.

Not to forget we can barely secure our top talents at La Masia. Our best CB talent since Pique is playing for Man City. One of the best strikers, an actual #9 to come out from Barca is playing for Juventus, one of the top RB talents is playing for Borussia Dortmund and so it goes....

You cannot get them all, but Barca can barely get anyone and retain their own players. If that isn't telling you something about the direction and management of the club then you're just blind.

I was affraid something like this could happen when there was no official confirmation. Looks like we didn't have money to pay upfront and close the deal.

Well, at least he won't go to Madrid. Although if he's really a RM fan maybe he has decided to rather sign with City so he could still move to Madrid in future. Who knows.

And we still have Emerson.

We've kept our most talented players (Fati and Ilaix). And we can't keep the players who don't want to stay.

Barely. At least Ilaix who was set on joining Man City before Barca eventually budged and agreed to his terms.

That's not the point though is it? Why are so many top talents leaving the academy and why are Barca missing out on so many young talents from other countries?

You can say money, but it's not like Barca are afraid of throwing money on bang average or mediocre players.

I wouldn't be too concerned about that honestly, with youth players there will always be players to miss out on or players leaving. There usually is a lot of fluctuation everywhere. At the end of the day you can't get everyone or always pay whats demanded, even a rich club like Barca.

Something like Couto sucks of course because it seems Barca was so close but for the most part that seems pretty normal. Just because the board likes to waste money doesn't mean they should go ahead and just do that everywhere. Especially with very young academy players, call me naive but i think money shouldn't be their main concern if they want to make it.

Definently room for improvement but i don't think it's that bad and just offering more and more money doesn't sound like the way to go. I'd rather have players joining because Barca has the best academy and good chances to play for the 1st team, but of course that will need some time because these past few years weren't great for la masia especially when it comes to transitioning to the first team.
