Yaya Toure

Metaphysical

Bomb Dropper
Some people forgot how his agent was even in 2008/2009 season, that Pep came from his vacation to convince Yaya to stay at Barca and he left for a salary almost as big as Messi's. I love Yaya, but he is a hypocrite..if he would have loved Barca so much he would have remained and fought for the DM post with Busi.

exactly.

Yaya is a massive hypocrite. he & his agent forced his way out of here to go get paid absurd money at City. Pep did not force him out at all and repeatedly said he wanted him to stay and repeatedly tried to get him to stay.

Yaya wasn't as good as Busquets and he knew it. so instead of adapting to a new position like Badger did so humbly, his agent acted the cunt (questioning Pep, insulting Keita) and manufactured Yaya's exit from absolutely nothing.

he can stay gone as far as I'm concerned.

And seeing as he is 29 y.o. now and still has 2 years left on his contract, I don't think Barca will need him at the time..but knowing Yaya, he will probably follow Eto'o in Russia and say he did it because he loves football.

exactly true.

at least Eto'o hasn't pretended his Anzhi move isn't about money (he wants to be a power broker in African football when he retires, you need money for that).

"If Barça called me I wouldn't think twice. It's been the most important team for me, I'd like to go back now" RAC1

Really weird this kinda comes out of the blue.

it's not come out of the blue.

he's won 2 trophies in 2 years with City and has CLEARLY been their most important player in attack during these wins, and his absurd contract expires in 2 years.

so his agent is now fishing for an even more absurd deal. and given Yaya's comments when he signed (about wanting to make City like Barça) and the fact that they've treated him so well, he can't really talk about wanting to leave to go play somewhere else unless that place is "the club of his life" which he claims Barça is. so now he talks about wanting to return, and there'll be stories he wants to come back now Pep has gone, etc., and City will not want to lose their most important player so will pay him even more money.

he's using us, like he did last time.

pathetic how you saps are falling for it.

again.

Yaya went to City because Pep used average Keita instead of him in most of big games of that 09-10 season. It wasn't about Busquets, it was about Keita. Vs RM at CN and Bernabeu - Keita in starting XI, Toure on the bench. In 1-3 ass whooping at San Siro, Toure = bench, Keita pathetic game and 90 minutes. I'm happy that Yaya left, he deserved better that being benchwarmer and watching Keita passes the ball backwards and being praised by Pep for being humble great person. YAYA 08-09 > Busquets, deal with it. YAYA in every form > Keita in his best form. Pep makes too many decisions based on emotions and feelings, and his love to Keita cost us a tie to Inter in semis. No Iniesta, who did he start in San Siro game? Unproven Busquets and meh Keita.

YAYA :worthy:

What? If you don't see that Yaya in treble winning season was the best DM under Pep, and he is a lot better than Keita, that we can end a conversation.

Let's pretend that it was great move to start average but humble Keita in San Siro vs Inter plus unproven Busquets where both of the duo flopped and putting Yaya on the bench for 90 minutes  Keita is good person, but average player who sometimes performs well. Yaya was awesome in treble season and good in 09-10 and shouldn't be benchwarmer. His last game vs Valladolid at CN was class, I will always have great memories of Yaya for everything he gave us. You can hate him that he has ambition and won't pretend that being back-up to much inferior Keita is OK. Your decision. Either way, Yaya is not coming back, so good luck for him in City, finish the job on Sunday Yaya :)

Keita and Yaya don't play like each other, at all.

Yaya is versatile and can play in all midfield positions. Let's not pretend that starting Keita over Yaya in many matches during 09-10 was tactical decision. It was Pep's decision based on Keita's fantastic human qualities. I have no doubts that we wouldn't lose 1-3 at San Siro with Yaya in the side. When people talk about Inter semis and points to Iniesta absence in both legs and Ibra being crap, they forgot one very important reason for our elimination - no Yaya in first leg.

Greedy? He signed a new contract and all of a sudden fell behind both Busquets and Keita in the pecking order. He is 10x the player Busquets and Keita are combined and yet Pep kept him on the bench. Isnt that just plain stupid and retarded?

From a sure starter, he went to become a bench warmer to inferior players (Keita and Busquets) and that is why he left. And I understand him totally.
