Yaya Toure

I was really disappointed when he left. He was immense in the midfield for us and I preferred him to Busquets at the time. Busquets has progressed at an incredible rate though and owns that position so the decision was understandable to let Yaya go. There is no way we will go for him in the near future considering the amount of midfield talent we possess but I do think he would be a great alternative to have.

Who can forget this goal?

Toure was immense; couldnt believe when he left us. Why was it he left again? Was it playing time, more money, issues with teammates/staff? I cant remember.

I think he just left because such a high price was offered for a player that was no longer in the first eleven and he was starting to make noises about a much improved contract.

Some of you have short memory.
Toure was an absolute beast for us. Check the polls among fans (some still available here) and see he was actually preferred pick over Busquets. He wasn't even a regular DM before we signed him and yet he made his name as one of the best, if not the best, DM in the world in less than 12 months span.
He even played as CB and very good (remember CL Final)? And that at the same time when beloved Keita publicly refused to play as LB.
How did it end? Pep preferred Busquets and Toure saw it. Having won everything he could he decided to make big bucks with City and I don't blame him.
His agent is a piece of work but his job is to do what's best for his player. If he can sell him again he'll make a nice bonus. It's just business.

+ 1

DM and CB :worthy:

He is 30y, i hope he comes back home.

We don't need him + we can't really afford him + this is all bs by his manager to get what he likes the most = $$€€€££££

He turns 30 in less than 2 months. If anything, he's looking for that one last payday before his body stops him from hitting the heights he used to. Also, his game is very much hinged on physicality and endurance.

I see PSG or Anzhi throwing money his way. Maybe even a club in China or Uzbekistan.

Bojan, you trippin', man. Yaya was superfluous. Yaya is not even played as a DM at City. He was usually partnered with De Jong the psycho last season and had creative responsibilities and he sucked at it. In Europe his lousy ball circulation abilities have been exposed. In England he gets plaudits for his ability to charge from deep with the ball and attack the goal, which is what midfielders are taught to do in this country. They eat that shit up. Fabregas suffers from EPL hit and rush syndrome. Busquets better in every way. Well done, Pep.

Don't bother..many of those who are still crying after Yaya don't even watch him play, but every time that he scores a goal they remind us that Busi can't do that. Also, let's not forget that his agent says all these stuff against Yaya's will every time.

He earns what.. 9.5m a year? insane.

12 M euros a year..earns as much as Messi, defends as much as Messi. Best defensive midfielder in the world..
Looks both unmotivated and overweight to me. poor season.
He doesn't feel apreciated enough..

I think Song is a better fit for us. Good on the ball and not overweight.
