it'd be easy to explain why keita started ahead of yaya in midweek (if he does).
keita's left-footed so would help stretch the field, in holding width he would assist abidal in curbing maicon's attacking threat (and also help in occupying eto'o with defensive work) and it was his delightful trivela pass that set zlatan away for henry's goal so his creative side will be boosted - he was also shooting more often so is obviously looking to refind his goalscoring form. he was consistent throughout the game, whereas yaya was worse for an hour and then much much better for 30 minutes. I mean this was "only" xerez and they got at our CB's waaaay too often.
now, I think on the strength of that last half an hour yaya should start against inter, because he will likely be carrying momentum over. but it's not a certainty.
and he certainly wasn't flawless tonight; considering yaya is supposed to be more defensively solid than busquets it was disconcerting to see xerez run all over us and get at the defence so easily. and it was his horrendous pass to chygrynskiy that started the chain reaction of fail that led to their goal. and I'm 110% sure if busquets had made that pass everyone would be all over his arse.
again, I think he should start, but some of the praise here is a bit ridiculous.
He was good but his frst half performance was rubbish imo. I htought it was gonna be another Yaya failing to take his chance match.
Second half, he was awesome. Just his positioning and also presence was great. His passing improved 150% and he created a a couple of chances when he pushed up a bit.
I don't think he was awesome in the whole second half. I think he started bossing midfield once piqué came on. before then he was just as hapless as he was first period (which is why I exclaimed in the chat regarding him always sucking against xerez).
