Yerry Mina

Mina would be just another case that proves that you should not directly sign a player from the overrated Brazilian League.

What, never again? And so always end up paying a premium on them from a European team brave enough to take a risk? Seems slightly strange transfer tactic. And if we say no to Brazil, where do you stop, what quality of league? Is Dutch league good enough? Portuguese? We'd end up buying from two or three leagues, and bankrupting ourselves within a decade. Okay so that's a slight exaggeration, but you get my point I hope. Buying from a lesser league is always a gamble, but to say never based on a one, or even a few bad experiences? I don't think that's sensible personally, and it might even mean missing out on the next Messi, say, the next Neymar.

Well Mina with a bit of work and more game time can hopefully be a decent back up for us..I wouldn't give up on a player so soon after just 5 games or so in a new league...I am not sure why folks are slandering him for a bad game overall considering our midfield was non existent and our defenders collectively sucked for all the 5 goals.. I am not sure what a new inexperienced player can prepare for in such an instance other than show his immaturity??

I wouldn't say 'Never' since there is a case like Neymar as you said although I never wanted him at Barça and am very happy that we finally got rid of that kid. Signing a player for the first team should be always done both very carefully and intelligently since it involves a lot of money. I would want Barça to take the risk by signing a player from Dutch, Portuguese or Ligue 1 since they are European leagues and more competitive than Brazilian one. Barça is already taking enough risks by promoting players from La Masia but there is also little to lose financially even if they end up not meeting the expectation. Regarding the next Messi, signing a player for youth teams is a totally different story. It is obviously important to sign talented kids for La Masia whenever possible however, when it comes to the first team, it has to be a different strategy since there is a lot to lose, and a lot at stake.

Guy looks nowhere near ready to play football in Europe, yet alone at a club like Barca.

A loan, probably even 2 years, would likely be his best option for next season. He'll get sent to the execution chamber if he stays here and put on these types of performances.

Sure lets make fun of him when hes down, the comments on his insta have been disgusting since the leganes game. But the fact is that the guy has talent, the physique, he is a starter for a WC team, I think he joined at the wrong time and was managed by a clueless manager who has no idea what to do with the youth. If he leaves us this summer I think he will be successful at another top club.

Is he actually a starter for Colombia?

I think he should go on loan next season but definitely wouldn't wanr him sold just yet

While he might possibly add something to Barça's defensive/offensive aerial game, he's an absolute liability for counterattacks. Should never be paired with another slow CB.
