So here we have south american player who was bossing the legaue there, then came in europe and looks completely lost, ok, he didnt play often, but his skills are average

Reason why you dont really believe player will be good transfer just because he is good in south america, could be the case with arthur also

Who else looked good after joining Barca and playing couple games? Not many. Give him time. He is still adjusting to live in Europe and Barca etc.

Come on guys let's be realistic. There is no way he'll ever succeed here. God Serena was right from the start.

He is way to slow and clumsy. While some tall and slow players can compensate that with good game reading and good positioning he has non of that. His positioning is terrible, the worst I have ever seen from a Barca CB, ad he doesn't read the game well at all. IMHO Marlon was way better than him and that says a lot since Marlon is far away from being Barca quality player.

Let's admit we burned 10 mil for no reason and move on. Is Lenglet solution or not I don't know but Mina for sure isn't. I personally would love to see De Light here but I doubt this will happen this summer.

I actually didnt have high hopes on Mina right from the start, was very sceptical about his weight and speed actually. I was against this signing but many people said he is one of the best CBs in the market.

But let's be realistic, he's not even called to the bench for half the season. I wont judge him after a few games. Hope he can learn some positioning and hopefully become much fitter.

I'm not judging this kid after few games, that's ridiculous.

See, this is what I don't get. Some players have poor games early on, but still show they've got ability under the surface that's ready to burst through. In the past few seasons these players were Rakitic, Suarez, Dembele, Neymar, Semedo, Mats, etc. Then, there are players who from day one look to be so lacking in quality and significantly worse than their teammates around them that "a few games" is plenty to see they won't be Barca quality. These are players like Gomes, Paulinho, Paco, Vidal, Song, Denis, etc.

I think some people forget that we are supposed to be one of, if not the best clubs in the world. If a player is this blatantly bad every time he plays at a certain point you have to stop making excuses for him. This type of defense is not something you'd give for a Barca B player who has a stinker because, he obviously is a 2nd rate player, so there's no point wasting more time on seeing if he suddenly becomes good, but when some clown shows up from a league and team that is arguably worse than the Segunda and Barca B, he's given all the time in the world to adapt. No, that's not how things work.

Mina is clearly nowhere near the level required to play for us and if he can be in the future it will take years for him to reach that level. He should be sold or at least loaned out for 2-3 seasons so we can bring Arthur in, and if Arthur after 2-3 months hasn't made an impact in the team he'll be written off as another flop from Brazil, too.

Agree with God Serena.

When you watch him you don't think 'Oh, this guy is new and he needs time to adapt to European football but the potential is there', you think 'Oh, this new guy doesn't have a clue about what a CB in Europe is supposed to do'. You can make up for many things, non-existent positioning with zero pace is not one of them.

But of course. Those who denied it and argued with me were sitting in a room that was on fire, but instead of saying "This is fine", they were saying "What fire"?

Let's just look at all the warning signs that this is the quality of player we signed, and the excuses made to wave them away.

1.) Rumors come out that Valverde doesn't count on Mina. Just rumors though, he's still the best CB from Brazil and plays for Colombia, so he'll be great for us, surely.
2.) Mina doesn't play a single minute for the first month. But that's okay, we have so many world class CBs that are just stopping him from playing. Plus, he has to adapt. Totally.
3.) Pique gets injured but plays anyways while Mina sits on the bench. Valverde is such an idiot, why did we even buy Mina? (My personal favorite)
4.) Mina plays and has a total shocker. First game, can't judge, he actually did well (Lol), you're a hater, he needs more minutes, etc. We've all heard the excuses for this one before.
5.) Mina once again doesn't play for an extended period of time. See #3. Plug ears when #4 is mentioned.
6.) Mina plays again and once again does poorly. See #4.
7.) Mina doesn't feature again for a semi-extended period. See #3, plug ears when #4 or #6 are mentioned.

I'm far beyond saying "I told you so" to so many people who lashed out at me for even suggesting he might not be as great as he's chalked up to be, but let's take a look at everything we sacrificed for the sake of our unbeaten season.

-We exhausted the squad with a lack of rotations
-We completely and utterly ignored Barca B and the development of our potential future stars
-We crashed and burned out of the CL in humiliating fashion
-We spent more time defending single goal leads and fighting from behind than trying to play beautiful football and score lots of goals
-We accepted mediocrity on an almost weekly basis

And now all of that is for nothing because Valverde lost his mind and decided to start this overrated trash from Brazil in an away game. This is supposed to be the exact type of game Mina is "Good enough for" as has been said hundreds of times in this thread, yet he put in a performance that even Bartra on his worst night would never have recorded.

Well said mate.

We don't have the luxury of giving Yerry the time to grow in to his role. Either show that you can perform or ship out.
