Id think messi would score less in psg than in barca tbh. Its pretty impressive by ibra to just adjust to new teams as good as he does.
Id love to c messi in another league or team once he is ready to write another chapter. I think its one of the things he still need to do and do well for me to think he is the words best ever.

CL is enough for me. best scorer and player 4 years in a row. Win.

We all know what Messi is doing to fotball these years, but this is what I mean by that atleast someone is trying to push him further.

This is the league only, away games. And as noted above, they share the top for CL points.

Are some people in here really comparing Ibra to Messi?
Oh, no, blasphemy. Never compare anything to the holy. :worthy:
What if the holy would one day come up short - we cant risk that.

Anyone not doing the comparison either does not like to compare performances between players at all, or is acting extremely immature. I'd respect the former.

No player has delivered like Messi the last three+ years (the argument is really wether or not someone has done it in history). One player is however atleast reaching for similar grounds of domination, and no, it is definitely not C. Ronaldo.

Well, Ibra had his chance in Spain, and we all know it ended.

I am not saying that Ibra is not world class, but comparing him to Messi is frankly ridiculous.

Well, OK let's compare for a little bit.

Ibra has scored 253 goals in 510 appearances. That includes the vastly inferior Swedish, Dutch and French leagues. Even the Italian league in which Ibra has scored most of his goals, was ranked 3rd or 4th when he was scoring there.

Messi, has scored 283 goals in 352 appearances. More goals, in much less games than Ibra.

In Europe, Messi has scored 56 goals in 74 appearances. All of them in the CL.

Ibra, has scored 33 goals in 100 games. Some of them were scored in the UEFA/EL.

Messi is the all-time top scorer in the CL KO rounds at age 25. I am not sure if Ibra has even scored in the KO rounds.

So, if you want us to continue this comparison, then be my guest.

*All of Messi's league goals, were scored in La Liga of course, a league that has been ranked either number 1 or 2 during the entire period under consideration.

No, comparing a first season in Spain with a lifetime in Spain is ridiculous. That is even one of the very few (maybe the only one left) things you can hold against Messi, the lack of changed scenery.

Comparing two players that dominate in a way that is rarely seen, is not. The fact that Messi has dominated even more does not change that.

And what you are doing above does not make sense, on so many levels. You end up talking about aggregate career stats. In this discussion, why would I care about what 20 year old Ibra did?

But just to burst your bubble of numbers (because it is fun):
253 goals in 510 appearances. That includes the vastly inferior Swedish, Dutch and French leagues.
Do you know where Ibra had his record first season in his whole career so far, regarding goals scored? Probably not. Spain, La Liga, Barcelona. Even coming back to Serie A, he coudnt reach those first season figures with Milan.

Not Dutch, not Swedish. Spanish.

And yes, this implies a whole lot more, but I dont want to upset people.

So if you play in the number 1/2 league on the planet, is easier than playing in the 3rd/4th/5th/9th and 30th league in the world.

By your logic, Messi should bugger off to the Albanian league so that he can actually be tested.

So the Dutch and Swedish leagues are tougher than Spain's? If that is what you are implying, then you must be the biggest WUM on this planet.

By this same logic, then the Spanish Tercera, must be superior to the EPL, because Michu has scored more goals in his EPL debut season than he did when he was playing in the Tercera.

I would guess it is much easier to gather goals in Barcelona and in Real Madrid than in any Serie A team, if that is what you are asking. It is harder to even get there, though.

By your logic, Messi should bugger off to the Albanian league so that he can actually be tested.
Dont have us confused, that was your logic doing that. And im not sure why it went to Albania.

I am saying it is the only thing (I can think of) people can still use to discredit Messi, that he hasnt been exposed to new scenery. The argument about the international team is not very valid anymore, and any argument about only performing at home is way out the window.

No, there is simply nothing that can be used against Messi. End of. And there is no player that can be compared with him. I know this sounds arrogant and even close-minded, but things are so obvious by now, that any kind of comparison between Messi and any other player is laughable to varying degrees. It is a brutal fact of football history that we should all accept.
