Gaston Edul confirmed that the Argentina vs Brazil match will be played on Tuesday 3/25 local time.

The lineup that I think will probably happen will be this

Alvarez------Lautaro-------Messi
--------MacA--------RDP
----------------Enzo
Lisandro---Ota------Romero----Molina
----------------Dibu

Can see Tagliafico over Lisandro though. Hopefully after the March WCQ, Otamendi can retire internationally.

Licha is out again for the forseeable future. Romero needs to get back to fitness same with Senesi. I guess Balerdi will be in with Otamendi. Long term the CB pool is very deep. I like Tobias Palacio. Otamendi like but can actually play football.

u20s qualified for the final hex group. 0-0 draw with Ecuador. Had chances to win inc a fine free kick from Mastantuono that hit the bar & post. The real business starts now. Placente has done a great job of rotating the squad. Out of it Soler, Palacio (now Ramirez), Acuna, Mastantuono & Echeverri have all the characteristics of future seleccion players. Delgado is near that & Woiski if he is allowed to play as a CF. Others like Carrizo & Hidalgo need to work on their team play.

Another win for the u20 v Uruguay 4-3. Should have been far more comfortable. The pibes have been well rotated by Placente. The game plan press, switches are similar to the seleccion. There is a slight weakness at RB where Obregon has been placed who is normally a CM for River Plate B.

Mastantuono has been a little under par for me having seen him play in the Primera. Echeverri on the other hand continues to cement his reputation. Two knocks to Ruberto & Soler hopefully nothing serious. The tournament is for the taking and with several players unavailable but should be for the u20 WC they should be aiming to win that as well.

Yeah Mastantuono has not been good, but he's 2 years younger than the rest of the folks. Echeverri will be the future for the national team. Looking forward to how he develops under Pep.

Placente has done a great job and he should really be considered to replace Scaloni, should the mister steps down as head coach.

In preparation for the March WCQ vs Uruguay away and Brazil at home, Scaloni usually announces his squad around end of Feb./beg. of March.

Only guarantees are Messi and Nico Paz. Lo Celso and Castellanos are fighting against the time and I don't think they will make it on time.

My 26 player squad

GK: Dibu, Rulli, Benitez

RB: Molina, Maffeo, Montiel
- For me, it's a toss up between Maffeo and Montiel, I'm fine with either choice. Maffeo can also play at LB if needed.
CB: Otamendi, Balerdi, Perez, Romero/Medina
- Shame that Senesi and Lisandro are both injured for these matches. Don't think that Romero will be 100% match fit by the time he comes back so Otamendi will definitely be there. I would like to give Balerdi a chance as he's more mature now being the captain of Marseille. Medina keeps getting yellow cards recently which is a concern, but he's still playing consistently compared to others. Perez for experience. Please, no Pezzella.
LB: Tagliafico, Ortega/Barco/Soler
- Tagliafico is a must and he will be in the WC26. Barco and Soler have joined their new respective clubs and chances of them playing in the March WCQ are slim so I do want them to settle in their new clubs and gain some momentum. Francisco Ortega have been doing well for Olympiacos and in the Europa League with regular minutes so he would be a good back up.

DM: Enzo, Paredes, Perrone
- Nico Paz has been getting the praise and rightfully so, but another Como player that I would like to see is Perrone who's been underrated imo.
CM: RDP, Palacios, Nico Dominguez
- Nottingham Forrest is having an incredible season and Nico Dominguez played a part in that so I'm hoping he gets selected.
CAM: MacA, Nico Paz
- Love Nico Paz

RW: Messi, Dybala
CF: Julian, Lautaro
LW: Nico G., Giuliano
- Garnacho has been in crap form and he needs time outside of football. Giuliano is a starter now for Atletico Madrid and he's a Scaloni type of player so I would be shocked if he's not selected.

My lineup vs Uruguay

Nico G. ---------Alvarez----------Messi
----------MacA-----------RDP
-------------------Enzo
Tags----Otamendi----Balerdi-------Molina
--------------------Dibu

Subs: Lautaro, Giuliano, Palacios, Paredes, Paz

The Pre-list has been announced (33 players). The Final list will be released soon (I assume it'll be 26 players).

GK: Dibu, Rulli, Benitez

RB: Molina, Montiel, Foyth
CB: Otamendi, Balerdi, Pezzella, Romero, Medina
LB: Tagliafico, Ortega

DM: Enzo, Paredes, Perrone
CM: RDP, Palacios, Lo Celso
CAM: MacA, Nico Paz, Echeverri

RW: Messi, Dybala
CF: Julian, Lautaro, Castro, A. Correa
LW: Nico G., Giuliano, Benjamin Dominguez, Almada, Garnacho

My guess is that the following will be written off: Romero/Medina (if Romero is fit, then Medina leaves), Echeverri, Castro, A. Correa, Benjamin Dominguez, Almada, Garnacho.

Both Pezzella and Otamendi cannot be called up in June 2026.

Looking at Bruno Gonzalez's YT video, these are the following 10 players who are at risk of missing the Brazil game if they get a yellow in the Uruguay game

Love that Pezzella is on a yellow lol, but the midfield is a huge concern and I expect a feisty game vs Uruguay.

I don't know how fit Lo Celso is so my guess is that he will be discarded vs Uruguay. Maybe we might need to play a 3-4-1-2 so that we play 2 midfielders as we have better depth at CB than at CM.

Dibu---Balerdi, Otamendi, Medina---Molina, Palacios, Paredes, Nico G.---Messi---Dybala, Alvarez

Considering the number of midfielders that we have with yellow cards and Lo Celso still injured, it's bewildering to me that Nico Dominguez, who had a great game vs Man City today, is not at least called up for the March friendly. Could have been useful.

According to Gaston Edul from the tweet below
- Pezzella is needed for his leadership of the dressing room and hold the group together.
- Garnacho, whether he plays good or bad for Man Utd, will be called up to the national team and Scaloni wants to take him to the WC26.

My guess is that even if the World Cup increase the squad limit to 28, Scaloni will only trust around 18 players to do the job for him.

GK: Dibu, Rulli
RB: Molina, Montiel
CB: Romero, Lisandro, Otamendi
LB: Tagliafico

RCM: RDP, Palacios
DM: Enzo, Paredes
LCM: MacA, Lo Celso

RW: Messi,
CF: Alvarez, Lautaro
LW: Nico G.
