Arsène Wenger, Sky Sports analyst, after Barcelona's 3-0 loss in the Joan Gamper Cup: "I believe that Barcelona has had a clear problem for a long time, and that problem is Ter Stegen. Monaco took three shots today at Barcelona’s goal, and two of them went in. The bigger issue isn't just the goals, but the fact that Ter Stegen’s way of saving shots is laughable and primitive. He raises his hand every time as if he’s waving, which is unbelievable. I think Ter Stegen is a great goalkeeper when it comes to one-on-one situations, but he is poor at dealing with both long-range and close-range shots. He is not the kind of goalkeeper you can rely on. If Barcelona wants to succeed, I believe they need to sign a better goalkeeper.''
Pretty much sums it up. We'll never be truly 'back' as they say, as long as this doofus is still here. If Lenglet will hopefully be gone for good until the end of the summer, he will the last of the losers we need to move on (well maybe Frenkie too, but he's salvageable, if his injuries aren't too bad and he's ready to come down on his wage...which he probably won't so he needs to be gone too next summer, while we can still get at least 50M).
Only then when all from the 8-2 will be gone, we can finally move on. Until then, we're in this state of limbo, even if we buy Leao and Isak both up front next season. Getting rid of MATS and De Jong will be much more important, for me at least.
