Nothing. But it was ter Stegen`s stupid unnecessary flashy move that got the first one for Athletic, and from that moment everything went to shit.

Ter Stegen will learn, he is overconfident and I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing for his overall development to be beaten by that, long term playing behind a team playing the way we did last night would affect anyone.

If you are looking at the big picture, it is okay that he made a mistake yesterday if he is to learn from it and think twice in the future before doing some flashy moves. I felt bad for him after the goal, because he is a very likable guy, but defensive solidity starts from the GK and he wasn`t solid yesterday, affected by that mistake.

This kid has conceded 24 goals in 23 games with Barca. Bravo has conceded 19 goals in 37 games.

When it looked like the UEFA Super Cup was going to penalties, I absolutely had no faith in him and a sick feeling in my stomach.

Bravo at the current time is better and more seasoned, that's all there is to it.

(Save me the argument about how Ter Stegen played better comp, blah blah. He looks terrible with the U21 German squad too.)

Why should we not mention that MaTS played in a tougher knockout competition against opposition of the highest quality as compared to Bravo. Plus using the U21 example is pure BS cause you can basically put Oliver Kahn with that defense and he'll still concede. Of all the games Bravo played, the relatively tough matches were against Atleti, RM, Valencia, Villareal, Sevilla and maybe Bilbao (who we rekt in the league) while MaTS played against City, Juve, Bayern, Atleti, PSG, Bilbao (the motivated trying to win only trophy version), Villareal and I'm still probably forgetting someone.

Ter Stegen is a great keeper, and will be the best in the world in some years, but he plays too risky in a some situations. Yesterday he was punished for it and I hope he learns is lesson. Last season, he was lucky in some situations (remember when he tried to dribble past Agüero against ManCity) so nobody criticised him. Even though he is very talented, I would prefer Bravo to be our starting keeper as he simply is better than MaTS at the moment.

He is the same age as courtois and a year younger than DDG. He needs to become a permanent fixture for barca soon or he will never reach the heights of those two keepers who had regular football week in week out since a young age.

You're talking to a wall.

People who think keepers like De Gea and Courtois started off like pro's who never made any mistakes.

I didn't watch Claudio when he was at this age, I reckon he played for Colo-Colo? BUT I bet he made similar mistakes because there's simply not been a GK at this age who's been free of mistakes. Not to forget Bravo was a bit blunder prone at Real Sociedad too where he played just a couple of seasons ago, but has been great and solid so far here and since the World Cup.

Neuer still makes stupid mistakes. De Gea has also had one mistake here and there. So has Courtois. The difference has always been that their fanbase and teams have supported them through it. Same with Oblak. Started off badly and as Atleti's cup keeper. Whenever he played, shaky as hell then towards the end of last season he looked like a different beast altogether.

De Gea was awfully error prone when he first went to United. Regular playing time and belief in him has resulted in him developing into the keeper he is now.

+1 in every regard.
Though Neuer makes those mistakes very rarely. :p

We are Barça. We can't wait years for a player to become world class. He has to step up now or he won't make it here.

Then Barca should always buy experienced, well established players and fans then not complain about lack of youth in the squad.

We kind of do that, unless we're talking about exceptional talents like Messi, Busi, Iniesta and others. And those guys delivered right away almost.
