He is having a great game so far, really hope he will come to Barca next season (preferably this season so he could get used to our system and all that).

Whoever says that Ter Stegen is overrated is either blind or stupid ...or maybe both.

This guy is the real deal. Every keeper makes a mistake once in a while. And Ter Stegen is young. He will learn from his mistakes.

Calm down. :)

And to answer your question, literally everyone.
We're just pointing out that he's very good as for 21 and he's having an awesome performance... And you obviously don't watch Borrusia's matches and your opinion is based on nothing

Or maybe they have a different opinion than you? There's a difference between making a mistake every once and a while and making them often enough that people categorize you as mistake prone. I mean Casillas, Buffon, those are the types of goalkeepers who make mistakes every once in a while, but they're world class regardless. Goalies like Reina, Valdes, and so far Ter Stegen are the kind who although make great saves, are still known for their mistakes.

There isn't any real comparison with Buffon or those goalkeepers. Hes just way young to compare, hes had 3 senior seasons and hes just 21. Inconsistency at that age is pretty normal especially for goalkeepers..For what he has shown he is very good for his age and has potential for the future.

People seem to forget how De Gea went from being inconsistent to a consistent world class keeper.

Ter Stegen is still young so I can't really understand why some people get so annoyed by people praising his potential and talent.

No one is saying that he is as good as Iker or Buffon so where is the overrating?

How old is he, 17? Is that his first season? No, it's his third season starting today and he is not a newbie anymore, so that excuse imo does not count; he is an established BuLi- player now and needs to back up the hype by playing on a high level for the whole season and not the odd game here and there.

He's not 17 but he's 21 which is still incredibly young for a GK. De Gea was also 21 when he went to Manchester, last season was also his third season as starting GK on the highest level, he was considered a failure due to his inconsistency and look where he is now, one of the best if not the best GK in the Premier League. Age matters even if he has a lot of experience.

the hell, ter Stegen is just 21!! don't put him in one sentence with those more than 30 y/o mistake-prone keepers...

how can be known for his mistakes when he's only 21? he's growing up as a players, it takes more time for keepers to grow up

Kahn made quite a few mistakes but he was still considered world class

Casillas lost his place to Cesar around Ter Stegen's age. Not everyone is Buffon when they are young, or we should say only Buffon or Cech were infallible when they were young. Neuer even at 24 had a god like Champions league semifinal first leg against Manchester United and the next game was average to below par.
