2nd choice in Barca and behind World class Bravo ain't second choice of Chelski or Shitty.

Chelsea and City got Courtois and Hart respectively though.

We've not been very good in selling for some time either.

RE: Bravo

I'm not sure there's possible to put a time stamp on how long he'll be performing like this

Buffon performed at such a high level for more than a decade while for the Chilean it only started 2-3 years ago which earned him the Barça move.

Could perform at this level for 3+ years or suddenly go Casillas too in less than two years.

It's very hard to gauge. Whatever happens, the club should be preparing to probably pay a WR or close to WR fee for a new GK like Rulli or someone like that in 2-4 years depending on how long Bravo lasts.

If I were to choose just ONE of them, I would choose Mats simply because of his age. He's our future. I know Bravo is currently the Best GK in La Liga but we need to prepare for the future. It's a big choice to make but if we really need to keep just one of them, we need to keep Mats even if we're letting go of the best GK. It's really a hard decision to make. I think a LOAN is the only solution to keep both of them happy.

I actually empathize with Marc in this instance. He signed for the club on the premise of being the long term solution between the sticks. Evidently however, it hasn't quite worked out the way he probably envisaged, thanks to Bravo. It's not often you end up with 2 really good keepers, but it's always dicey when one has to ride the bench.

Mats need to realize he is a kid and at the moment less than Bravo. Count his blessings for being a at club like Barca playing cl and copa and learning.
Just be patient, in 2 years he will be the goalkeeper for the next 10. If he leaves now he will regret it in the long run.

He may regret it if he leaves now, but so will we.

If we have to pick one of the two to keep between Bravo and Mats, I'd pick Mats.

He's still the long term solution.

Klopp has officially denied any interest in ter Stegen during the winter transfer period.

Still doesn't mean that MATS might be looking somewhere else(Manchester United could need a keeper if Perez somehow finds a way to use a fax machine for his request  ) during the summer.

If you are Barcelona and Ter Stegen says he wants to leave unless first choice next season what would you do?

Telling him to wait a few years as Bravo won't last ten years doesn't cut it and I would bet he would ask to leave.

Is it worth keeping an unhappy player on the bench when could get a big fee for him in that scenario?

Like Bojan said ATS played 12 games this season, Bravo 15. He starts in CL, Bravo starts in La Liga. Maybe explain that he is in the best club in the world and that his time will come, to be patient a little and work hard? And perhaps also start him in easier La Liga matches?

Let's think of this from his point of view then. I mean, the only two keepers his age and better than him are Courtois and DDG. The major difference is that they're getting consistent playing time atm. Courtois in particular wouldn't have ever been this good had he never gone on loan to Atletico.

If MAtS leaves and does good on his potential, the ones suffering will be Barcelona and not him. Sure, he probably won't win trophies or get to share a dressing room with MSN etc, but when he's world class, teams apart from United/Chelsea will be more than willing to take him.

The only reason as God Serena explained earlier is because Bravo was injured. If Bravo hadn't got injured, the numbers will paint a different story. The four La Liga matches he played wouldn't have happened if not for the injury. And you do realise how if this continues, Bravo will always get 38 matches but MAtS' minutes will be variable based on how far Barcelona progress in a knockout tournament?

And, Lucho isn't changing the fact that Bravo will only get La Liga minutes and MAtS gets CL minutes. Chelsea were smart about Courtois (he's been a star since his Genk days), they realised that he needed playing time and loaned him out and bought extra back-up keepers until Courtois was ready to usurp Cech.

If he leaves for a club like Liverpool then he'll be in Bayern in 3-4 years anyway replacing Neuer.

I guess he'll make a choice this Summer.

All that will be explained to him already I would guess.

Assuming he says he wants to go if not first choice was the question.
