All the good teams have GKs already imo. No decent place where he can consistently play the CL.

Doesn't necessarily have to be CL. Liverpool is good enough for 2 years. He's willing to downgrade for playing time, so why would he be against not playing CL for some time?

It's not just about ter Stegen.

Recently we're being more and more linked with players pushing 30. There's a life after Messi too, so we need to think long-term and build a team too. Not much of that happening right now.

God knows whether we're even gonna sign the mythical young CB this summer.

If he's in the market, I can see Pep signing him for city.

I don't think that's that necessary. Hart is a lot better than people give him credit for, and on similar levels of MatS. But Pep might still want MatS instead, because of Pep-reasons.
It would probably also mean that Hart has to leave, because Ter Stegen would not want to stumble into another tandem.

Loaning him out/selling with a buyback could be fine if he really is that unhappy. But we just can't lose the best young player in his position(not to mention a perfect fit for Barca), it would be like selling Ronaldo all over again (except this our club isn't in shambles).

We can't lose him. It's sort of like losing the Neymar of goalkeeping. I hate the fact that he's pressuring the club though. Understand it, but still hate it.

Mats is.a very good keeper but people are getting a bit carried away about how good, bravo is still the better all round keeper for me.

Hmmmm,No .
MATS isn't by any mean Neymar of GK in any sort .Neymar right now is undeniably the best player of his generation . probably a once in "football generation" type of talent .
MATS is good, really good .but no neutral would put him above players of same generation like Courtois or De Gea .
While I didn't like BBZ8800 post ,his comparison to losing him to losing Thiago is way more accurate than this "Neymar of GK" one .we would be losing a young start GK .but not a generational one

Thiago was replaced because we already had players in his position. System changed a bit with Lucho too. The Thiago or Bartra comparisons are rubbish.

Who will you replace ter Stegen with that is equally as skilled as him to play for Barca? That's not to say he's the goalkeeping Neymar of this generation either though, as there's a 3-4 other really good GKs at his age, although they have different skill sets and already play for a big club.

But back to topic.

Can you suggest a GK like that, that also won't cost a lot of money either? You see, that's the issue with @BBZ8800 's constant comparisons and strange percentages of how Football works. He dishes those figures out, but never talks about possible solutions.

And to be honest, ter Stegen isn't all wrong either. Look at every single GK at his age and how many games they play every season. It's always 30+ games, while MAtS plays 25 if we make it all the way to the cup finals.

For him personally, it's not really the best way to develop as a player.

That remains to be seen. He could turn out to be that, or not.

That's a rather dramatic change of opinion for you. You do realize keeping him will most likely lead to age discrimination (Your words), right?

You would have left the greatest club in the world on the verge of make to cup final runs? I don't think many others would have done the same.

If it meant I could play consistently, yes. Adriano is one of the most successful players in history, trophy-wise, but he's not having much fun out on the pitch, considering he's rarely out there.
