I highly doubt we will give him up for this cheap. Last time I checked the club said we would not sell him, unless someone came up with 80m, which is his buy-out.

Plus it is City, it makes no sense as Joe Hart is a better keeper who is only 28.

I'm waiting for Catalan sources to either Confirm and or Deny the report.

This wouldn't be the first time the English Press decided to publish a report that ended up being false.

If this turns out to be true which I doubt, I have nothing but pity and contempt for our board and Ter Stegen himself.

You'd have contempt for a player leaving in search of playing time?

Lol

LOL all you want

If he thinks playing second fiddle behind a very good keeper who is 28 at City is better than playing second fiddle behind a very good keeper who is 33 at FC Barcelona, yes, I have nothing but contempt for him.

Still haven't seen any reliable Journalist Confirm the story.

This seems like one Cooked up by Ter Stegen's comments and twisted even Further with Pep going to City.

and Matt Law the Creator of the Article wrote this.

Ter Stegen will be the second player after midfielder Ilkay Gundogan to choose Guardiola and City over Jürgen

I don't even remotely Remember Liverpool ever approaching Gundogan recently.

He's not guaranteed to be second fiddle behind Hart, though. Hart himself is very prone to poor spells of form and I can easily see him getting dropped for a CL winning keeper if the opportunity came. It'd certainly be more likely than overtaking Bravo if Lucho decides not to reverse the roles.

I'm getting Thiago flashbacks here...

I get why Bravo starts in La Liga and I completely understand why Enrique trusts Bravo more. But you know me guys, I'd rather have a goalie who can be World Class for a decade in goal rather than maybe 3 or 4 years with Bravo. It makes more sense to cash in on Bravo long term. If we sell ter Stegen now, we might have to be in the market for another distinctively unique GK if Bravo declines or wants to leave.

It's hard to find GKs that we need and we got lucky with ter Stegen and how cheap he was. He's had some good performances with the limited time he's gotten and at the very least, I think he's earned the right to get some La Liga matches. You could do something like ter Stegen gets home matches, Bravo away matches and go with whose hotter for the big CL games and El Clasico.

Bottom line: we need to learn from our mistakes here. He's earned the right to play more and I'd be irritated as well if I was in his shoes.

Hope Lucho makes the right call here.

Hart is relatively poor with the ball at his feet compared to most of the top keepers around these days.

Ter Stegen would have a much better chance of getting a game there every week and get paid double the wages.

Cant really blame him for wanting that and chance to work with Gardiola ahead of what he has at Barca just now.

Did I mention Hart is English?

Say all you want about Hart, he is still a better keeper than Ter Stegen right now. It makes no sense to play Ter Stegen and bench Hart, unless something drastic happens.

Of course, the friggin guardiola factor (everybody loves him and wants to play for him) and much more money could kick playing time out the window.
