Did I mention Hart is English?

Say all you want about Hart, he is still a better keeper than Ter Stegen right now. It makes no sense to play Ter Stegen and bench Hart, unless something drastic happens.

Of course, the friggin guardiola factor (everybody loves him wants to play for him) and much more money could kick playing time out the window.

How is Hart a better GK?

Hart is poor with his feet, slow off his line and not a Pep type of keeper at all. The English press won't like this and it's a risk as he is a big character at City.

Anyway, this news is BS.

He will most likely have a talk with Lucho and the club when the season ends and only then will we know what happens.

Yeah, Mats is much more in the Valdes/Neuer mold that Pep would like. If Mats went to City I can easily see him taking the starting spot.

Lucho will switch the roles and Ter Stegen will stay. If he doesn't stay with a switch of roles then good riddance.

A bit surprised he put it out there, seems kinda un professional. You would think he would say something akin to "Yea, I would love to play more. We will see how it goes next season." He just straight out put pressure on Lucho to either put him on n1 position, or he is going. That way he has publicly invited interested parties to Barcas doorsteps. Don't like this one bit:busquets:

Think a switch is far from certain.
Yea, I think Lucho is going to tell him there was no need for public "plead" for n1 spot or else, and he might actually get his wish served. For 30m euros.

And I think MATS is best keeper we could have hoped for, the guy is beast. But it just seems so wrong to put it out there for public just like that, it helps no one. We are about to play Clasico and we have to wrap up the season, everyone has to carry their share and after that lets deal with that...I imagine there have been big bids in last 24h in Barcelona unfortunately.

If Ter Stegen says he will stay with a switch then I think Lucho would be mad not to go ahead with that, and thats coming from one of Bravos biggest supporters on here.

I think in the GKs case, it's not Lucho, but Unzue who has the biggest say on the order.

Unzue was the one who told Lucho to sign Bravo and also recommended him to Pep in 2010. And there was a report before the start of the season that Lucho considered a switch, but got convinced to keep the same order this season. If Unzue simply rates Bravo much higher or has a soft spot for him, then a switch isn't all that sure to happen.

A lot of factors involved here. Perhaps the board will get involved in this too though and make it happen.

Lucho won't ever switch because Ter Stegen said he'd leave otherwise. He would only do it if he thinks it is better for the team.

How's this supposed to work for Stegen. Something like:

TS: Mister, make me no1.
Lucho: No. Wait your turn. Bravo is more experienced and he's better for La liga. You get the CL and Copa.
TS: Not good enough. I want to play more. Make me no1 or I'm outta here.
Lucho: Well, in that case, you're no1 starting from tomorrow.

Please... No top manager would allow a situation like that.

Yes, but this kind of media "blackmail" surely won't sit nicely with Bravo and probably with team either. Just seems so wrong to say it before our most important matches are about to begin.

ter Stegen should get the Dictator :messi: talk for him. Everything will fall nicely in place then :mou:

I don't see this as blackmailing though. If he doesn't get any assurances, he will leave. Every GK at his age is playing 38+ games every season. De Gea, Courtois, Oblak and even his German competitors like Leno, Trapp, Horn and co, while he ends up with 25 IF we make it through to the CL and Copa del Rey Finals, and even those 25 games are spread over the entire season.

Besides, I find it stupid to think him starting in the league will lose us the title. If anything that logic applies just as much to Bravo who's never made it past the group stages in the CL for Real Sociedad, let alone had the experience of playing through all the pressure games and winning it, and never played and won the Copa del Rey either.
