His positioning for goal one is iffy, though. I guess he thinks the ball is going to the backpost and steps towards the right. I wouldn't murder him over it, we were all over the place.

He had to re-positioned himself to the middle when the ball went to Griezman to cover, but was caught off-footed for the header. Nothing to do really, brilliant header.

He did his job perfect in my book. Not like he can take the ball, run by everyone and score the goal.

On the off chance he does go (he won't), how big of a fool would he have to be? Like, it's clearly a matter of when, not if, that he becomes the starting goalie. And even if he goes, it's not as if there won't be competition (unless he picks Liverpool).

I'd like if we had another year of our rotation but this situation could go sour real fast. Bravo's 33, and while that wouldn't the greatest age for a goalie to take the backseat, how must he feel that MATS has forced the club's hands? If we're going to make MATS the full-time goalie, it might be better to sell Bravo all together to avoid bad blood in the camp.

Hes been rotting on the bench since he came so it is understandable that hes had enough of it. How much longer will he have to wait? Another year? 2? 3? Bravo shows no signs of decline so at best MaTS will be rotting for another 2 years and that is not good for him. How is he supposed to improve and build experience by playing once (or twice if hes lucky) every one and a half month? How much will he have missed after 3-5 years of riding the bench? And he can do nothing about it because no matter how good his footwork is and no matter how many good saves he will make Bravo will always be the #1 GK because they are on similar level and Bravo will keep getting hundreds of chances to keep performing since he is playing every weekend while MaTS has one game every 10 years to perform. He has no chance to win the 1st spot until Bravo starts to decline heavily.

Something mus be done because this situation aint gonna hold. Maybe something like MaTS plays one month and Bravo the next month? One gets 3 games then the other one? One of the play all home games while the other one takes care of away games? There are lots of alternatives to choose from.

As a Cule, I want him to stay and wait but we have to be realistic. You have to take the fan goggles off and look at it from his perspective. He will be 24 soon and has been a part time player for 2 years now. Bravo has shown no sign of decline and Enrique seems to be very quiet about what happens next season. Imagine if Bravo is the Liga starter again and MATS turns 25 only playing a handful of games each season for the past 3 seasons.

These guys have no allegiance besides to themselves. He could very well be pissed about how his time at Barca has turned out despite the trophies.

1. Ofc it is a matter of when. Problem is that Bravo's form is not somehing that you can quantify so easily. He could drop off this year, maybe the next or even play 4 years with such form. There's no perfect prediction that one can make. Looking at it for MAtS' point of view, can you let these years of development be so variable?

2. At some point, we have to understand that MAtS isn't the type of player who says, "I've joined Barcelona, my career is now settled." He's a player who clearly seeks to improve. Maybe in terms of trophies, he'll win less if he moves to Liverpool, but he'll end up being a much better keeper. And get even paid more as a result. The guy has ambitions to usurp Neuer as the NT keeper (as unreasonable as it sounds), there's no way he is making enough progress if he plays with such a schedule where is called upon for a match once a few weeks or so.

3. Again, the only two keepers at his same age group who were comparable in talent were DDG and Courtois. They've kept improving due to various reasons, the most obvious one being increased playing time. Meanwhile, he hasn't improved at the same rate, while even his young German rivals are constantly improving due to playing so much (Leno, Trapp).

Neuer is already 30. If we go by average age of GKs when they decline, he may only have 3-4yrs left at the top( unless he goes the Buffon route). Germany has a sick line of GKs waiting in the wings.

Something to add into the consideration:
1. 2 weeks ago, we were Barca, a treble winner and a team who is on a way to repeat the treble
In those days, it was somewhat understandable that Lucho is not changing anything from his winning season (MSN, Iniesta-Raki-Busi, defensive line, Bravo-Mats situation), because that's how it goes: you shouldn't change (in majority of cases, or at least not too soon) a winning team
2. today we are Barca, a team who got knocked out of a CL even though we had (by far?) the best team

Things have changed a lot in the past few days.
A few days ago, Lucho was 99% sure to stay, and there weren't too many reasons to question any of his decisions, since, we were Barca, a treble winner and we looked as if we will repeat the treble.

It remains to be seen what will happen with La Liga now, and with Spanish cup.

But either way, imo, Lucho probably isn't 100% sure anymore that he will stay.
Even if he wins, his situation won't be as good as last season (at least in his eyes, after a CL debacle and how we turned La liga into a mess currently).

So, regarding Bravo-Mats, but also regarding some things (like MSN's backup in the future), some things might change now.
1. if Lucho stays for 2-3-4 seasons, he will probably act differently now, than until today
I expect some changes in the next season in his approach, because he has realized that he made mistakes this season
2. if Lucho stays for only 1 Season
= Mats has a huge chance to play in the next season, or "after Lucho"
3. if Lucho will quit this summer
= everything is open on a GK position under a new coach

So, imo, in a some strange way, our CL elimination is "good for Mats".
Barcelona will be a slightly different team from now on.
Some things will change, with or without Lucho.

Unless if Lucho will do everything exactly the same, and repeat the same mistakes.
But then, he also won't last too long.

I'm sorry to say...but I cannot remember any of his excellent performance for us....compared to him Navas is like a cat on that goal line...probably saved RM from even greater depression.
