So surprising that you have a goalkeeper with a low score when you select games in which we conceded 25 goals. Wow.

Those are the most important games of the season though. What’s the point in having him if he just performs in La Liga where the pressure isn’t as high.

People can blame the defence being so shit that he conceded so many shots but he 100% mentally collapsed in that game. Him trying to pass out from the back was clearly not working but he decided to do the same thing over and over which invited more pressure onto the team and the more mistakes he made the more shit we became. Top players need to step up in the big moments, not collapse in them.

What are the metrics that go into that sofascore for goalkeepers and for other positions?

The difference is a goalkeeper's main job is to prevent goals. If he concedes, his score goes down and it's more difficult for him to contribute in other ways.
If a forward doesn't score, he can still have a high score, because he can offer different things to the team and therefore increase his score.
If you look at a GK's score in games where THE TEAM suffered 25 goals, it's very likely he will have a low score.

I agree with some things of the 2nd paragraph. The decision making was shit and it irks me when we want to keep our philosophy even when we're getting slaughtered.
On the other hand, the whole team collapsed. A GK job is to stop the ball after a shot or cross is made. It's not his job to stop that shot, cross before they happen.

Thats right but we judge him based on the performances when we got our humiliations and he was always one of the worst players on the pitch. Far away from a worldclass GK.

PS: Rumbero bist du es ?

Aside from the ancient seniors, MAtS and Roberto should be the first out the door.

Although I do have to admit that I would wait until the new administration comes in before selling him. MAtS would get us a decent transfer fee but I do not trust that fraud Abidal to use the money wisely.

Yeah 8-2 shows the whole team collapsed but Stegens distribution and mistakes contributed to that a lot imo. Would like to see his shot/save ratio for all those big CL games too compared to his La Liga ones. He faced 14 shots on target in the Bayern game and 8 went in, seems a shocking stat and not sure if all the rest were saves/deflections etc. Obviously its not a perfect stat as it doesn't account for type of shot but it really does seem in those CL games that he is drastically worse than La Liga.

That's entirely on the coach, he set up exactly as we did vs Roma with no real out ball. Our forwards are slow and don't have any real threat while being non existant in the air.
His distribution certainly didn't help but booting it long would of resulted in the exact same outcome.

I will not lose time on Ter Clown and count his saves in La Liga.

About his CL displays, I'll repost this:
Psg 4:0
On target 10, conceded 4
Juve 3:0
On target 8, conceded 3
Roma 3:0
On target 7, conceded 3
Liverpool 4:0
On target 7, conceded 4
Bayern 8:2
On target 14, conceded 8

Total:
5 matches
450 minutes
Faced 46 shots on target
Conceded 22 goals
Conceding 48% of shots on target
Conceding a goal each 20 minutes, on average 4.4 goals per match

Last 3 years:
28 shots, 15 goals
Conceding 54% of shots
Conceding a goal each 18 minutes, or 5 per match on average.

** Imagine entering into a CL quarters or semis away match, and you know that on average your GK will concede 4 or 5.

Those figures back up my views on him. The only reason we won in 2015 is because we were so much better than everyone else.
