when Valdes gives the green signal? What does that even mean? The club can announce it whenever they want to, and I hope it is really soon

Is it so difficult to wait until the end of the season most probably?

The green signal means that he's definitely leaving for another club.
Zubizarreta said that the staff will announce the name of the new GK (Ter Stegen) when VV will announce his new club.
But now, the situation is different.

I am still wondering why they wanted to wait in the first place. Does it matter to keep it a 'secret'? Or does VV feels bothered by it when the name of his successor is out during the season?

If I recall correctly, Valdés was about MAtS in his last press conference, and said he's a great keeper, and that he wishes him a great career, something like that.

Possibly foundation for turn around? With this wonderful season, he is loved by fans and the board. He wants to stay but can't go against his words.

Long fake injury means people sympathy. Board makes him renewal offer & he accepts in last days of summer windows. Win win.

You wish.

Valdes: "Ter Stegen? He's a complete goalkeeper, very confident for his age too. I admire the German school, I wish him a great future."

His performances have gone south since Jan. Poor anticipation, and needlessly getting animated today. Perhaps, the pressure's getting to him.

Did you watch him today?

He had a lot of no nonsense saves and clearences, no problems with crosses and a crucial save to deny Hamburg a goal.

It was nothing spectacular but a solid outing today.

Monchengladbach is shite tbh... the whole team is in a form crisis recently, he's been solid every time I've seen him this year though

Why else would I be commenting? He had a poor first half, but did redeem in the sec. Poor anticipation on HSV's goal, and then goes down like a sniper hit him, when the HSV player barely touched him on the subsequent cross. And he seems to be making a habit of it. May be I'm being harsh, but I'm not impressed with his keeping on set pieces.

He's still 10x times better at set pieces than Valdes, especially at claiming crosses
