The first goal was totally saveable, in fact, it should be routine to save those one-on-ones, it wasn't like some crazy skills or anything...

The crazy thing is that because he plays for Barca and only has to face a few shots per game, the fact he still fails or looks bad is even more shocking. It also means he has less opportunity to make saves if he faces less shots, so in contrast I guess it?s harder for him to showcase positives but Jesus he doesn?t really have them anyway. I just wonder how many would he let in if he was playing for a europa league team. Probably as many as he does in crunch ucl games.

Aside from acknowledging him being good at playing with the ball at his feet for a moment (if 45 degree, floated passes into danger is your thing) and we rate a keeper based on the basic attributes they should all have to some level BEFORE they are good with their feet:

- shot stopping
- dealing with crosses
- commanding the defence
- communication
- confidence

Then I can think of at least 5 goalkeepers in the Premier League I'd currently prefer to Ter Stegen in goal let alone world football. To me Ter Stegen is rated world class almost by default just because he plays for Barcelona, his big game performances are almost always lacking. In Europe he's basically a sieve.
