+1 though I think that he was one of the best, atleast until he made that mistake at Bernabeu.Agreed guys.
While not among the best out there, Valdes was one of the best goalkeepers for Barca, and I remember back to Zubizarreta days.
As for being grateful.. Well that's what the money is for. And aside from few odd matches, the fans were very much grateful. And so were the previous and this board and all the coaches.
I thought being a Catalan means you stay loyal to Barca to the end but obviously "desire for a new challenge" is stronger for some.
GL to him until the end of season and in his future but for me, Valdes just sank a level.
No, he didn't have any decency by announcing this when the team is still fighting for trophies and especially after we had a bad result in the Cup. He could have waited until the club found a replacement and let Zubi make the announcement, like Pep did.+1, agree on everything
at least he had a decency to announce he will leave now....if he announced it in summer we would be in serious trouble
We will have him for at least six months!
Anyway that is very sad news..I was thinking the other day that Valdes would retire as the player with the most apperances as barca player, ahead of Xavi. That's how big part of our success VV has been.
I guess that Valdes just like Pep cannot deal with the pressure that well..
The way he and his agents handled this was very bad and disrespectful. And I bet money was what spoke louder here, not just "other cultures". But I respect his decision to leave, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their lives. I just really think this could, and should, had been handled some other way. Not with this "don't even propose anything, I'm not listening lalalala, I'm leaving" way.The timing of making his intention clear to leave wasn't perfect, but calm down. He just wants to get to know other cultures, play in a different league and play at a club with a bit fewer pressure (like Pep). He isn't leaving for more money or because he doesn't like the club anymore.
+1.i dont forget that under his presidency pep gone away. And another thing..no matter how dissapointed we are with VV, we shouldn't forget that the only lier in this story was Zubi. And that's why I would take everything that Mundo Sandritivo says with a pinch of salt. They are not a paper that supports Barca no matter what, they only care about Ro$ell and how to make him look innocent in any situation.
