Yes, Ansu did not look bad, but it a measure of precaution and sanity for any board that respects itself to see how the player comes out of the long-term injury
rather than jump the gun, assume the player will be the same, and overpay twice or thrice the money he should be getting

in no way in hell you can compare the two. Neymar was already proven for a couple of seasons in Brazil and with the NT.

I’m not saying Fati was as good as Neymar. I’m saying Barcelona did that to secure him and make it impossible for him to leave to prevent something that happened with Neymar which they clearly regret

True, but this is part of a larger issue which is the absurd inflation of a player's potential before you have any concrete evidence of what the player's level is.
And everyone is guilty of this at this club. It's the same issue regarding the way the club is run. Not with reason, logic, and pragmatism, but with emotion, bravado, and political mumble.
I'vd told you before time and time again that the only way you hand out big money and high appraisal is based on facts, results, achieved status. Not potential, eye-test, or projections. That's emotional and subiective. When it's not your money, you can't afford to be emotional and subiective. That's simply put bad management. And the club reeks of it.
