Funny to me, awhile back some people were reasoning behind these so many rotations that Pep did in every matches and saying it is because the season is long blah blah, Pep is doing the right thing blah blah... But at the same time Pep is SUCKING THE LIFE out of the best player in the squad, playing him in every single match while everyone else being rotated. I don't get it. What kind of a fucking rotation is this?! And what's the point exactly??!

He is having a great season in terms of goals & assists but the whole tired/in need of a rest thing is bullshit he's being pretty lazy in terms of pressing.

If it was not clear enough the Ronaldinho comparison was pun. I apologize if it was not clear enough.

What I am trying to say is that I (and others) have spotted a unfortunate habit of his (lack of spirit, determination etc.) something which he never lacked before this season. It can potentially be a dangerous patch for both him and the team.

That's how it started with Ronaldinho. People often think that his decline happened because of his private life (partying) but this is not true since that was also the case from day 1 during his spell in Barcelona. This decline of his first started after a very successful period (2003-2006) for both him (Balon d'Or etc.) and the club due to that exact same mentality Messi has displayed from time to time when he has faced difficulties and the team has sucked at the same time.

I am by no means saying that the same will happen with Messi but only that Pep and the coaching staff should have a chat with Messi about his attitude when that happens.

I don't know if people remember his games against Getafe and Espanyol (as the most clear examples of such a behaviour this season) but those were worse case scenario displays of what an indifferent Messi can look like. Unfortunately I have since seen glimpses of the same in a few matches.

I can be exaggerating but that is nevertheless what I feel right now.
Messi lacks character.... did you see Thiago carrying the team today as if he was xavi? that's what Leo will never have. Messi is a good player , the best in the world but it is barca who help him be the best too ( just like santos and brazil helped Pele). This season Barca is not doing great therefore Messi's performances go down. Most of Messi's goals are at home where the team performs the best. His away form = terrible.

I'd say the opposite. Messi performs better at home = we're doing better at home. Messi has a bad game = we draw or lose. He's that important

This season? He was very, very good during the first half of the season... Just look at his performance in the supercopa
so just cause he performed well in the supercopa that means he's having a great season? he has been quiet in most away games. He hasn't been as key for barca as he was last year ( yes in the supercup he was good) but in la liga for the most part very mediocre specially away from camp nou.

So all the points we have dropped away from home is Messi's fault?

If Messi was second ronaldinho he would never have been showing VAST improvements EVERY season. Each season you dont even expect him to be better than he's been in past, yet their is always aspects of his game that he develops. Ronaldinho, as great as he was in 03-06 was always at the same level, and after winning CL he just stopped giving a shit about his game. Messi cant be showing carelessness suddenly out of nowhere when he's been the exact opposite in all 4 years Pep's been in charge - always working on his game. If he "lacked spirit" he would have been partying right after 09 treble. Why the fuck would he keep working hard if everything is won, right?

there aint shit to be done about Messi's attitude cause there aint no problem in the first place.
Carrying entire team for 3-4 years in a row has GOT to have tiring effects. he is just exhausted and needs rest. people need to stop overcomplicating shit and act like they are fucking psychology Freuds

Don't you see a connection between him being lazy and being tired actually?! Messi is that type of the player that rest himself on the pitch. That's the only way he can survive playing all these matches without a break.

Exactly.

The sudden change of Messi's attitude (call it mentality, spirit, determination or something else) this season compared to the former seasons can't just be explained as a sign of fatigue.

Messi is human, he can have a bad game as everyone else, and yes he still creates chances even on his worst days but there is something that was always present in his game before this season regardless of him having a bad game or not and that was his pressing game and will to give it all and try the same dribble despite having lost the ball prior to it.

I lack that part of his game this season when he and the team is having a bad game. That's all I am trying to say.

And apparently others have noticed the same despite it not being popular to say on a FC Barcelona forum. But I don't care and say it as I see it.
