Messi was Argentina's best player at the WC, but he was awful at CA.

Was Messi awul??? Did you watch the games??He was a playmaker. He made a lot of chances to his teammates to score. Higuaín and the others should have scored more goals. He was the best! What did tevez and Lavezzi? Nothing. Higuaín let out a lot of chances.

And are you always trolling? ;)

Except I wasn't?

I don't know about awful in CA, the whole team wanted me to pull my eye balls out.

Lavezzi and Tevez were both a big joke.

Yes..but he's also a troll.

Maria, I apologize if I upset you or have crawled beneath your skin on an occasion or several of them but you have to understand that a lot of the jokes are long running, meaning they have been established and understood by other members. Sadly, unfortunately, and slightly amusing some of the new comers or more sensitive members do not locate or differentiate between a troll, a jinx and an actual observation/comment. With time you will differentiate, and take maters a lot more lightly.

If the comment is absurd, indeed absurd, as with 'once a cheat, always a cheat' then it is obviously absurd and did not require the attention it got. And if you actually think about half of the statements that you consider trolling, they are in fact compliments. Ronaldo will slow down, he is not Messi is a compliment. Once a drug cheat always a drug cheat means he is unreal. When I say Barcelona will 4 - 1 at San Siro, it is merely a prediction considering all things. Sometimes, like once or twice I have planted a jinx and it worked, and I played off of that for a while but it remains just a prediction.

If I was as sensitive as some of the posters here, what would I have done considering I have been called a hater, tit, loser, among many other names? Some went as far as predicting what my sex life was like. What did Sergio do when people made fun of his looks/demeanor? For all the controversy Dalitis stirs up in here, and the waves of insults he gets for it he hasn't taken anything personal when the matters were made personal.

I do acknowledge that I troll, some days more often than not but it is discouraging to post anything useful because right of the bat, whatever I say I am accused of being a biased Madridista. And even then, I have contributed a lot, outside trolling/jinxing/whatever it is you think I am doing.

I didn't said that like it was a bad thing..the only statement that bothered me was "once a drug cheat always a drug cheat" and I explained why I had this reaction(since the accusation from COPE I read and heard a lot of stupidities especially about Messi and Abidal and I became more sensitive).

Anyway no bad feelings between us I hope..:beer2:

Is it possible for a madridista to be unbiased? :p

no madridista is biased, remember we are the team of the capital, we have to be just and moderate. we are the law.

Argentina's prob hasn't been one of creativity (they create enough goal-scoring opps amidst the chaos - courtesy messi) but of ball retention and poor finishing. Their midfield is erratic on the ball and just can't retain under pressure, constantly misplacing passes. And without timely delivery of the ball, messi is required to drop deep to bring the ball forward. (Though, sometimes he can be a passenger when he's deprived of the ball for long stretches. And i wish he was more pro-active on such occasions.) They certainly need a calming presence in midfield, and who can constantly feed him the ball (a gago, banega whoever). Once that is established, the rest won't be much of an issue. He does 've players in Di Maria, Higs, Aguero in attack, who understand his movement, and support him via off-ball runs, link-up, creating space or finishing.

This team needs a 3-man attack as emphasized by last few games (played in Di Maria's absence). El Flaco was deployed wrongly against Bolivia, hence ineffective. Whilst the incorporation of another attacker (Aguero-higs) in the sec half against colombia and the suisse, stretched the oppsn defence, and made them more threatening. Hopefully sabella abandons the 2 upfront when Di Maria is back (considering their fullbacks are slow and incompetent in attack, they need him all the more). I don't understand the hate for him. Yes, he's had some unflattering moments, but he's been alright (olympics, wc). He was poor at the CA but so was rest of the team. He only started one group match which they won (the rest he was a sub or not used), his performance against Uru was poor, however. I don't think he deserves to be mentioned alongside Lavezzi and Tevez. This season whilst he's raised his game for his club, he's either been played out of position(c.midfield) or out injured to feature for the national side in the meantime.

As for messi, he's best played as an enganche (if they can add another talented winger) or a RWF(if sabella makes room for an offensive midfielder). But sabella doesn't trust the young'uns in mf, so he'll continue to play on the counter, with over-dependance on Messi's playmaking, which would be fine as long their MF can do my above first point right.
