Some of the English supporters are at it again..Now acc to them Messi is over rated because he bottles it against big teams..Strange they dont seem to consider the 5 goals he has scored against Real Madrid!

Don't think so , based on how Fifa world player of the year works it will likely to be decided based upon the CL final performances of Ronaldo and Messi.

Messi wins it, guys. He is not overrated. He has many more years ahead of him to change up tactics and get even better. That's the way fifa thinks, anyway, which is why he hasn't won any major awards (Balon d'Or, anyone?) yet. I predict he will be phenomenal next season...just watch.

This might sound like blasphemy but I actually want Ronaldo to win both this tear(again).
Us fans know who the better is of the two,but still I want Ronaldo to win it.
It might give him further motivation and force him to take his game to the next level.
Imagine that.Messi playing at a couple of levels above what he has been playing this season.
I just have this nagging feeling that he might go the Ronaldinho way and throw it all away if he wins it this season.

Messi is far too much of a level-headed proffesional to do that. Just read some of his interviews, he's one of the most humble players i've ever seen, even when half of Europe is singing his praises for a year.

that's very true, he always puts his team first when it comes to the interviews, i doubt he will change if he wins it, in an interview about this exactly he said he valued more winning things with his team than personal trophies

I agree. Messi has won it just depending on what he has done so far. And he is still going.

I don't think one or even ten FIFA World Player awards can stop Messi from trying to do even better. He will keep imroving, he will keep working on himself. It's like his inherent nature.
