Incidentally, Ujfalusi never actually went to the locker room to apologize to Leo...He instead had Aguero act as his intermediary...Coward anyone?

 this forum....

He didn't want things to get out of hand.

That wasn't even one of the worst tackles I've seen.

I am so angry
football without Messi is meaningless!!!

Agree on the part on banning the player as long as the injury he causes!
+ additional fine
+ salary of the criminal during the ban goes to the injured player
+ all the medical expenses
+ probation for the year; double the penalty if the criminal commits the similar crime during the probation
+ lawsuit!!!

your would be supporting this if one of our players injured someone badly

Well thats alright then.

It was still a very bad tackle and one which could have resulted in a severe injury. I really cannot understand why so many are jumping to the defence of Ufjalusi when the pictures of the tackle are damning enough.

What defense? He got a red card, deserved a red card and will hopefully suffer a significant ban from it. But let's not make it out into something that it's not, he was most likely being reckless, not malicious. This is not a player known for his graceful movement after all. It was a bad tackle but he's not the anti-Christ because of it, and all the talk of hoping he gets his legs broken is immature.

He's probably going to end up missing more games than Messi is, I think that's enough. at calling him a criminal or a coward.

I didnt say i hoped he gets his legs broken but the pictures are damning. Making out its something its not? Its reckless at best and thuggish at worst.

Well any poor tackle is going to have pictures like that. It was definitely reckless and arguably thuggish, yes. I'm not blaming everyone here but there's plenty of talk about wishing terrible things happen to him an calling him things like a "coward" and a "criminal". Mascherano has made worse tackles before.

Fair enough mate, i see what your saying now. No, im just saying he deserves all the condemnation he gets but not his leg broken. Sorry, crossed wires on my part.

You can still see the ball in that picture. Ujfalusi, just like any other player going up against Messi has very little time to react and unfortunately, his reaction time meant that he literally just missed the ball and instead came in contact with the lightning quick ankle of Messi. The pictures look far worse because they're frozen in time and any sense of how it came about real-time goes out of the window.

I'm with La Furia players get injured from bad tackles all the time whats the big deal? i highly doubt that is what he intended to do, it was just a reckless tackle

Once again the voice of common sense, thank you.

It's obvious that Messi is agile. Ujfalusi is a less than graceful defender who has been reckless before, but a picture doesn't tell us that there's only a second between Messi being where the ball just was. People are putting too much weight on the picture.

Interestingly enough this is also why I think players like Messi and Iniesta have the right to dive. They are always getting their ankles beaten up by tackles, sometimes intentionally but usually because most defenders are just unable to get to the ball without hitting them. When you are that good you can't avoid this sort of contact, and pre-emptive diving is actually a defense mechanism.

when puyol/xavi retire, yes :p

but if the tackle wouldn't have been so rash and without the ball it wouldn't have been a big deal since injuries like that happen in football but since ufo is such an idiot..

Based on what exactly?...The manner of the 'tackle' in the first place?...How exactly is going in studs up and heel down, going for the ball?...As he purported in pressy, btw...Malicious, there's no two ways about it...It's not a play for the ball...We're not talking about a fleet footed player, he didn't suddenly lose the ability to match the burst of a player like Leo...Anyone who has actually played the game knows full well there are those who lash out in desperation and regardless of intent, it remains an act of malice to do so even recklessly

Moreover, the audacity of the player to actually contest to the referee?...I guess honor in football is absent with some...He didn't even go to the player to see how badly he had injured him and instead lobbied to the ref to avoid being sent off.

It was reprehensible from any way you look at it

Reminiscent of another that ended a career (Among other things)
