they should just be thankful to God that he visited their city and played rather than making criticism that he didnt score
what?! He visited the city only because of a FIFA friendly scheduled on the sub continent. Not because Messi asked FIFA and his FA that he'd want a match organised here, and everyone humbly agreed.
His federation was also handsomely paid, mind. For most footballers, its a matter of pride and obligation to represent their national colours and Messi, likewise, responded to a call-up and travelled with his national side, as always. If not here, he'd 've played elsewhere. His visit was not of a philanthropic nature but, mere, professional. Once he answers the national call-up, he features on the manager's discretion.
They are trying to get a competitive side playing together before the more significant matches commence.. Now with the Captain's armband he'll no doubt play. No favours here, all parties concerned, working towards their respective interests is all. The day Messi visits us, to fund a local hospital/charity or sponsor a free-all Messi show, we'll express our gratitude. But for now, we are no more thankful than those who
pay to watch him play, wherever audience. Besides, it was less a criticism on leo himself, but more a dissapointment of failing to watch him score on their live experience. I still see nothing wrong with that. But your fanboyism 'll perhaps blind you once again.
