Watch him get benched by Mourinho or sold by Perez soon (they say Perez doesn't like Higuain since he's not one of his signings). Stealing Cristiano's show just as he did in 09/10 when he scored more goals than the Portuguese.
That sounds foolish enough to be possible given what club we are talking about here.

pele played in a time were shorts were shorter than boxers, a time where defenders were the least energetic players on the pitch , a time where the ball weighs so much you can do some hoodo shit on it after you kicked it, a time where keepers were outfield players who just couldn't make it as a striker.

pele has nothing over messi so he can just live in the past and stop trying to relate him self to stars of modern football. i honestly don't think pele in his prime would be able to make it in modern football.

Pele(about Messi) : "It is a normal thing when a player is compared to a player from another time period, sometimes he is not interested in the comparison"

This time Pele was surprisingly not stupid.

The thing many forget about Pelé's time is that his teammates he was playing with were also Brazilian legends. Altafini, Coutinho, Didi, Garrincha, Pepe, Vavá, Zagallo etc. They've been an absolut dream team. When Brazil won the WC in 1962, Pelé injured himself in the second game of the group stages and Brazil still EASILY won the whole thing.

Brazil without Pelé:

last game of the group stages against Spain: Brazil 2 - Spain 1

quarter finals: Brazil 3 - England 1

semi finals: Brazil 4 - Chile 2

finals: Brazil 3 - Czechoslovakia 1

So Pelé has a World Cup to his name in which he did not even participate for 180 minutes. Put Messi in such a team (today's Spain) and he'll win the World Cup 3 times, too. Maradona might be the only player who really won a World Cup by himself. That and his achievements with Napoli make him the greatest player of all time for me. Pelé does not even come close. In fact, most Brazilian's regard Garrincha as a better player than Pelé.

Pele is FIFA's mouthpiece .Diego was not and therefore is not liked by them and the bandwagon roll's on. Garrincha is the forgotten man in the world. Most akin to Messi in terms of his dribbling skills.

Diego did not win the WC on his own either. It was a solid defence and solid midfield. Most of the players in that side had played for teams like River Plate and Independiente who had beaten the best Europe had to offer at the time ie Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Diego just added that je ne sais quoi. And when Messi retires indeed even now , colleagues and opponents have nothing but praise for him. So too for Diego for all his faults and there are many off the pitch.

Many of Pele's team mates have not got one good word for him.

watch any Pele documentary! loads of his teammates have good words for him. And those that do not, it is probably down to personality issues.

Do all of Argentina 1986 team have good things to say about Maradona? Or has he fallen out with some of them because of Maradona's egotistical pompus personality a part of the reason wh?

Is that what everyone will say about Messi and Barcelona many decades from now?

That Messi played in a team of Legends like Ronaldinho, Henry, Eto'o, Xavi, Iniesta, and that it was Iniesta who was the best with all the dribbling skills?

that is actually true to some extent, see Messi with Argentina for reference!
for me best player ever is Maradona... for his world cup heroics and Napoli !
Messi and Ronaldo (Brazillian) come next!

ROFLMAO at Pele doesn't even come close to Maradona

PELE is the best. Don't let Pele's egotistical douche baggery make you hate him so much that you become blind and illogical.

I don't think Pele is the best, but he surely is one of the best ever. It's not just hype, he was that good. Top 3 easily, with Maradona and Messi, for me. His arrogance and stupid personality that kinda destroys everything.

I believe that once we will get the chance to see messi, maradona and pele play together or against each other
go on, time machine!

//oh and also I fancy Menotti´s five kings of football, Cruyff, Messi, Maradona, Di Stefano, Pele with no particular order but those were five guys that impressed masses the most

You know Yugi, Pele got registered in Santos' squad for the club world cup this year, so we might see one of those games sooner than you'd think. ;)
