#17 for him today.

If there's someone who's not as lazy as me, we could make a comparison what his goal tally was during this time of the year in 2009. So, we could see how he's moving now compared to his 47 goals last season.

He had scored 12 at this point last year.

Pretty sure that is correct anyway :p

Maybe it was no planned Messi to play, but I guess Leo heard that Ronaldo scored against Murcia, so he decided to hit back

Messi: "WTF that bitch is playing dirty, scoring in Copa game...Pep, put me in there I wanna goal+assist special"
Pep: "*sigh*...just don't overdue do it and please setup one for Bojan while you're at it"
*Messi warms up*

Frankly, notwithstanding the great seasons other players had, nobody else comes even remotely close to Messi in terms of individual brilliance this year. If they still plan to release a 5 man shortlist, Messi should just take all five spots.

"Messi had to play for three reasons. He had not trained, firstly. Messi also wanted to play and thirdly, because of the people that came to watch us," Guardiola told AS post-match. "It was a cold night, and there wasn't a better time than a Wednesday night to see the best."

"I wanted the fans to also enjoy it."

So there we go. It's sort of great that he wanted the fans to enjoy the game but I would have rather had Messi on the bench for the entire game.

Very nice too hear or read this^^.They still want to attract the fans.
In the dutch copa, the big teams do not think about that, they try to win very easy without thinking of the fans at the stadium.

Thats good, I had the exact same reasoning. I agree with Messi playing, if he haden't trained then he would have been fresh enough, nothing to worry about lads.
