Somehow I don't like the idea of his first minutes after recovery being against Bayern. He's been out for a while, and only started training on the pitch the other day. The entire injury turned out to be a bit more serious than was described before the 2nd PSG match.

It only became more serious because of the extra effort he had to do in the second leg, otherwise he should be playing already...

But it's Messi we are talking about, the guy doesn't need match fitness, just give him the football and he'll do the rest... He's done it before, and he'll do it again...

The point is that he was given the medical green light for the Bayern match, not for the Levante match... He isn't ruled out yet as further tests are taking place before the match, but still, in such a critical part of the season it seems that playing him vs. Levante has a bigger risk than reward...

I thought he was given the medical green light for the game against Levante like someone pointed out here, if it is only for the Bayern game off course I prefer he rests and keeps recovering.

MD article claims Leo is 70% recovered, not sure how they ascertain that to any degree of accuracy but it does illustrate that he is not yet fully recovered

there is something wrong here
he got injured on the 2nd of April they said he needs 7-10 days to recover than on the 2nd leg he played 30 minutes he injury did not get worse if all what they said is true he should got the medical green light a week a ago .

Absolute bullocks ! Why shouldn't I wish to see my favourite player play when he is supposedly given the medical green light. If he is given the medical green light you could as well blame the medical staff of being a Messi fan and not thinking in the best interest of the team. Like he himself mentioned, he feels better when he can play not when he can rest and he's been able to rest for a almost 2 full weeks.

Don't act like Xaviniesta...

hmmm, that's why I don't even trust the official barca statements when it comes to injuries. on the other hand, it seems to be understandable since you can't make exact predictions about the time of recovery.

The Bayern game is a few days away and some of you think that's going to make any difference whatsoever? lol, do one.

Levante at home - a great time to gage just how he feels in competitive game time with the big match a few days later, whether that be half hour or what, start him Tuesday and he's at bigger risk or re-injuring himself.

Messi, recovering from thigh injury, underwent medical tests this morning. Results were good, but it's not yet clear if he'll play. [sport]
