Agree, so many times legends had their career cut short by injuries.... France's classic legend Just Fontaine would have gone to be one of the greatest strikers ever if it wasnt for an early injury... Van Basten..etc

Messi does not need to play with Barca anymore this season, with Argentina either until he is greened but "REAL Green" by some decent Medical team doctors.... screw records, being safe and able to play is 10x more important.

Not really. Ideally, he'd keep scoring 60+ goals per season, with the other teammates scoring 20-30. Alexis could've had those numbers, if he hadn't missed so many chances, for instance.

Having other players around who can score easily will probably help Messi because he will have more space to work with.
