At least Cesc was running and helping in defence, while messi did his usual sleep-walking. Lost a bunch of balls as well ...pretty much a disgraceful performance.

Messi created two glorious chances. Which is more than Fabregas. Messi was surrounded by 3 Atleti players every time he had the ball. That opened up space for Iniesta and Neymar to operate.

Hmm I think he wasn't very good, he couldn't do much thanks to Atletico's defense. He didn't do much other than that magic assist to Iniesta.

Messi created 2 chances, had some moments. The worst was Cesc. Messi was marked out of the game well by the altetico players. And with a horrible midfield, he had little to work with. Iniesta away on the left couldn't play too much with him.
The problem with the formation is named Cesc Fabregas, and Tata, for insisting in playing him. It might work against attacking teams, but it won't work against a good defensive side that did park the bus.
