He is loyal because he gets a lot of money. Imagine having Celta Vigo pay his hormonal treatment since 2000... do you really think he wouldn't have left at the first good offer from a better/richer team?

We had players like Cesc leaving even though they were highly regarded in La Masia..Messi could have done the same, especially knowing how the club was in 2003 and the money that clubs like Arsenal are constantly throwing at our canteranos, but he didn't. And if he would have played like a club like Celta they would have been the first to want to sell him, just like Malaga had no problem with Isco leaving last year.

Maybe his father, that is if he takes time from not paying income taxes, should remember how Barcelona changed the life of the whole Messi clan, back when nobody was sure that the treatment would work and Messi would fulfill his potential. But hey, it seems that's not how loyalty works...

And you can blame the man, especially when he sees that Neymar's father got 40M euros to let his son come at Barca and is paid annually as a scout to do nothing?

I wouldn't really blame Messi if he decided to leave, if he stays he'll be wasting 2 more years of his prime here, taking into account that we wont be able to sign upgrades until 2016. Winners like winning, he could easily go to any other top tier team.

But at the same time my respect would go through the roof if he still stayed loyal even in the harsh times.

Lionel Messi rejected last summer offers from five clubs, including Real Madrid who were willing to pay his 250M buyout fee. [esport3]

Just imagine if Messi would have gone to Madrid. The media from there would have gone crazy.

,, Messi to win La Decima "

,, 10 reasons why Messi is better than Pele "

why do barsa fans keep bringing this incident, you know he just did it for the cameras. If Ronaldo would have lost he'd be the same whiny baby that he is.
Because he hates to lose. Don't make a monster out of him. He tends to be cocky but he is a great guy.

Crystiano would have moved back to Manchester then and no madrid fan would have remembered him after one season.

So apparently Messi is sad because the club had promised him to sign Agüero, but instead, they signed Neymar.

The shit that some newspapers write.

Why do people even bother reading these newspapers/sites...

Agree.
I mean, come on. It's just football. No need to act like our rivals' players are serial killers or something.

Some fans are trying to set up a campaign to chant: MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSIIII MESSSSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIII in the 10th minute and boo the board in the 11th together with a white tissue galore (which in Spain means something sucks).

Hopefully lot of people join in on this.
