I was comparing Messis situation to Ronnies, I was just making a separate point about getting too attached to players.

Messi's case is also very different from Dinho's. Messi is homegrown, a real icon of what the club stands for. He has to retire here. He won't be the best forever, obviously, but he's awesome enough to transition to a great midfielder one day. He's only 26 too... The club has to value a player like him.

nah. His pre-election campaign was top notched. marketed by entire Catalan society. It was hard for socios. He is still being protected by the same catalan society. Lot of this has to do with valuable global business contacts all over the world & his father being the G.M of the club before.
