So what? That's 760 votes, probably from short-sighted people who jump on every bandwagon which drives around. Messi is a professional footballer, the best in the world for several years now. I'm sure he has to deal with a lot of criticism and I'm sure that he knows how to deal with it. Personally, I wouldn't think about my future at Barca just because 760 people voted against me on an internet poll.

As long as Messi doesn't not have a drastic decline (just maintaining today's decent but not god-like level for several years), I don't think he will be sold. His status and marketing power that come with his fame will still be a goldmine for the club.

Personally, I want Messi to prove all the doubters wrong, bring his best in the next several years and eventually retire here with us. If Messi can't succeed at Barca, I doubt he will succeed elsewhere.

It's not really such a head scratcher, it's quite easy to understand. Messi wants to stay, but if the fans want's him to leave, he will because he want's whats best for the team. But it's all up to the fans..

Btw, he signed the new contract. It's on the official site.

It actually was a shitty season for him, BY HIS STANDARDS. And he still scored 41 goals. That speaks volumes about how good he can be.

But from where will he get the opinions of the fans? Silly online polls? Reception at Camp Nou? Media?

On the one hand I hope Messi will shift his gears several levels up, knowing some fans are not happy with his performance recently; on the other hand I hope he will not read too much out of this and be distracted by it. Regardless, he should give his best and does what he enjoys.
