After that message he published, signing the new contract and saying it like a zillion times, do people still believe that there's a chance he'd leave??

Not in the immediate future, but his Weibo post does leave people with some questions to ponder.

I hope he never leaves.

I really liked that message he sent to the fans, it was really an amazing gesture and it meant so much to me that he actually apologized on behalf of the club.

I have a feeling that we will see a top tier Messi next season.

He's had his criticisms this season (some of it was well-deserved), but he's Lionel fucking Messi. Him leaving Barca should not be a topic of discussion in this thread for another 8 years at least.

his stats are still good but his overall contribution has been less this season.
Stats are one thing, but i Think people Went mad because he didnt seem to fight for it as bad this year as previously.
He absolutley fought for it the last game of the season and even with all the missplaced passes he delivered in the first half, and how easy he was disposessed again and again he fought for it and had some really good plays and and some nice actions, thats what people want to see, that he has not lost his motivation. You cant score every game, not even Messi and yes it was a bad year for him but as long as fans see that the spark is there i Think they will be satisfied.

Does anyone else think that pays in sports are getting ridicilous ( for a while now actually ). I mean honestly its freaking ridicilous, 20.000.000 per year... thats almost 2.000.000 per month... something is seriously wrong with this world.. meanwhile unemployment in spain is what 40% and average pay is what? 800€? I just don't get how players in any sports can get so much money, heck even if they got 100.000 per month, that would be a TON OF MONEY imho.

Yesterday I was reading the MD article about Benatia again and went to comment section only to be annoyed to see many people wanting Luiz and guess who......... SAKHO!

They are either trolls or just completely clueless. Freaking Sakho LOL!

It's not ridiculous though. Have you seen how much the clubs finances have grown over the last decade? or even the last 5-6 years? The club probably uses 60-70% of revenue for wages so when revenue increases so do wages. Also with a player like Messi the club can reap in huge profits. Supply and Demand blah blah blah.

Messi on Weibo:

"Actually things did not go as expected, it was a tough year both personally and as a group… In the last game, we were able to achieve a goal, but failed to grasp. Here I would like to apologize to all the fans of Barcelona, and the promise that we will return next season and will win. About myself, as I always said, I am still able to continue to stay at home and be happy. Maybe this year is not what we expected. It was perhaps not my best performance of the year. But I am convinced that the team as a whole, the future of my personal situation. The people of Barcelona will decide my future, but my choice is to stay here, because I can still feel they always give me love.”
Good thing Messi stays above the dross and doesn't get sucked down by the unbelievable ignorance and negativity of so much "fans".

Realizing Messi hasn't been at his best and wanting him to do better is one thing. Hating on him, placing unfair amounts of blame on him and wanting to sell him is just absurd.

Even after all Messi has given to this club, even this year, people still have the nerve to doubt him.

He's had a rough few months, which directly coincides with the team's rough few months. Messi is still our best player by far and still has the drive to win. When the air is cleared and we have a fresh, new, positive environment and a reinforced squad... we will be just fine. Everyone has a rough patch and bad times... it's just the cycle of nature. He'll be back... I'm not even worried about it.
