Not butthurt one bit, i don't hold on to things and obsess over things like others. Better team won. I love watching Barca and Messi play, hence why i post on here. Have never said a bad word about both and doubt i will.

My reasoning behind my post (if you want to hear it or just keep on being an immature cunt if anybody disagrees with you over something regarding a bloke you are obbsessed with and will never meet in your life) is i think its unfair how celebrities/ famous athletes who use their talents to earn ridiculous amounts of money should try and fiddle the system. Now i know people will tell me he didn't know what was happening and it was his dad/agent/whatever but i feel has if that is just being ridiculously naive. He knew the score.

This is a great forum but it is going down hill very quickly with all this bitterness and paranoia regarding everything to do with messi/ronaldo/real/uefa/fifa etc. I simply expressed my opinion on something which pretty much everybody that isn't a barca fan agrees with yet i get accused of being butthurt over something that happened years and years ago which doesn't bother me today in the slightest.

What do you mean Messi knew the score? He should have known what his father was doing?

And how did you come up with the 27m figure if I may ask?

I agree with BBZ, Messi might not want to drag this along further by appealing the verdict, it is not going to change anything anyway, the damage is already done.

He is taking so much heat lately, I just hope that he will put everything behind him, enjoy his vacation with his family and come back stronger and more refreshed. And yeah, slap those haters in the face by putting forth a stellar performance on the pitch next season.

Sorry, but then his father is just stupid/naive. I can understand that Leo, who was around 20 when that happens didn't take care of his own finances at that age and didn't know what was going on (or as he said he trusted his father and signed whatever papers he brought to him without reading them before) but it's harder to believe that Jorge Messi didn't know anything about that. I don't know if it was his personal responsibility or the familly already had some financial advisor back then but like I said it's hard to believe Jorge Messi didn't know what was going on.

off course there is a likelihood that he is naive. he does not have a finance background, and its not like there was a head of TAX Fraud in the balance sheets. The greater chance is that his finance guys tried to be over smart.

All companies around hire specialist to save taxes legally. And these guys get high incentives for saving more amounts. There is a possibility of naive messi and his father were made to believe that whatever is done is legal.

I am sure they wouldn't look into technical finance documents which they have no knowledge of.

That much is quite obvious.
Even more when Madrid players has done the same but just paid the fine and that was all.
The first trial ended with the same result, and the state atorney prosecutors just wanted Messi to pay the fine like all the others, but then a former Real Madrid lawyer, Marta Silva de Lapuerta, refused to put the case to rest.
If you cant beat them on the field you have to find other ways..
here in Sweden, you can just say you want other judges and lawyers if you find someone has a personal agenda, clearly a former Real Madrid employee are biased.

what madrid players done the same?

Naive are the people who think this would had happened to Messi if he played for rm. Just need to compare what happened with him, Masch and Neymar, to Casillas and Alonso. Spain is a corrupted country. Not that this makes any of this better, just pointing out the obvious. It's good to point out the Fiscalia asked for Messi to be absolved too. It was Lapuerta, a rm soci and former board member, who pushed and got his conviction.

Ridiculous. Even when the fraud started he was a minor, in 2005.

Then he won't be able to play champion's league outside I guess? How is it in Spain, is it like here in France?

What do you mean by this? Probation would have any effect on him travelling outside of Spain?

Because of the condamnation, he should stay in Spain, 22 months but not "ferme". Ah sorry I don't know how to explain it in english. But you got an idea.

I don't know anyway, I don't want to scare anybody! Just wondering.

Yeah I got it. This stupid requirement, if true, both Messi and our club need to fight it and fight it hard.

Support for Leo Messi and his father
The Club, in agreement with the criteria expressed by the Government prosecution service, considers the player to be free of criminal liability.
FC Barcelona gives all its support to Leo Messi and his father with relation to the sentence for tax evasion handed out by the Provincial Court in Barcelona today.
The Club, in agreement with the Government prosecution service, considers that the player, who has corrected his position with the Spanish Tax Office, is in no way criminally responsible with regards to the facts underlined in this case.
FC Barcelona continues to be at the disposal of Leo Messi and his family to support him in whatever action he decides to take in defence of his honesty and his legal interests.

This is good to hear from FC Barcelona, let's hope it helps a lot.

I don't know how this works in Spain but I doubt very much that he is not allowed to play outside Spain. There is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't. I know nothing about Spanish law but I do know how it works here in Holland. If you get a suspended sentence, you are free to travel. And that makes sense since Mascherano has a suspended sentence as well and he played for us outside Spain.

I also have no clue were the 25m came from as it was 4m, which is quite a difference.

I think there is a lot of work to do here for the mods as loads of trolls will come now!

And last but not least: come on Lio, do whatever is best for you! We will support you!
