Guys, I have a couple of questions.

1) At what age do you reckon Messi will retire?

2) How many goals, assists and trophies do you reckon he will end up with once he retires?

With Zizou leaving Madrid, hopefully Leo can guide Barca to the CL next year, and if not I don't think Madrid will win it without Zidane next year

Doubt it, especially if u still have EV as the manager. Depends whether he could be more assertive of the dressing room and drop deadweights like Suarez.

The problem isnt facing Real Madrid in that competition, we literally were knocked out by other opponents. So I dont think Zizou leaving will solve our issues.

Yes but it will stop Ronaldo winning his 7th Ballon D'or in 2019 is what I was trying to say as they won't win the CL at least without Zizou, even if Barca don't win it, that's something positive.

6th*

he hasn't won the Ballon D'or yet and after that shitshow of his in the final, it'll goto the world cup winner

Spain - Iniesta or Ramos
Argentina - GOAT
Brazil - Neymar

Anyone other than Argentina or Brazil and it's locked to CR.

Iniesta or Ramos will never win it over CR and neither would any Germany player. Griezmann got a fair shot if France win and he's their best player.

The media will forget his final performance. All they'll see is his goals count + a couple of clutch performances in the earlier KO rounds and the 3-peat.

I dont see what Ronaldo has over Salah who has performed better thus far. But its the same as other times. All they look at is: most important trophy= Real = Ronaldo wins it. He has great pr as well. Its very true Only a messi/Neymar wc run with a trophy will keep Ronaldo from a ballon d’or. Spain/France/Germany winning it wont influence it at all since they dont have one main star player.

Don't like discussing this since Ballon d'Or has become so trophy oriented. What's the point?

But it seems clear to me that Messi has been the best individually. Not Salah, not Ronaldo over the year.

not this time imo. Ronaldo has profited hugely on recent memory regarding matches/fickle fans (thats how he gets away with only playing well for half a season) but this time Bale overshadowed him in the CL final, he was shite in the semi's and if he flops in the world cup i dont see how he wins it.

the Ballon d'or is a popularity contest and with Iniesta leaving, iirc a french magazine said they regret not giving Iniesta a ballon d'or, if he wins the World cup with Spain (double with Barca) i think its possible.

I respect your optimism, but I think you're giving the press these days a bit too much credit here or benefit of the doubt.

Messi has 3 CL

In 2006 his feet did not touch the pich so you really cant cout that as one of his acomplishment.

Messi was the best player vs. Chelsea and injured later.

If Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, De Bruyne, Griezmann, or Kane leads their country to World Cup, they'll win Ballon D'or.

Otherwise it'll be between Messi/Ronaldo, I would say Ronaldo slightly ahead now but Messi could easily overtake him if he has a better World Cup and start to next season.
