If Dembele is available Messi should start on the bench. Sounds like a smart idea to risk it against the likes of Ramos and Casemiro.

Shouldn't risk Dembouz to start either with him coming back from injury, both should be on the bench if Messi isn't fit

this game is worth risking. play him now and rest him vs belbao. this is a double mission : win a trophy+"deny madrid a trophy

Yes, it goes the other way around too: Ramos and Casemiro will probably get every Madrid-fan and the coachs blessing to pull a red card on Messi if the can injure him for the next month or so. Would devastate our chances in the league and CL. They could even try to do it unconsiously, because their instinct is to play dirty and over the line (mostly without consequence from the ref). He should be spared this one, and everyone else should get their shit together and perform without Messi pulling all the weight all the time.

Running Messi into the ground simply because you cant handle not winning the Copa for the 10th time in a row or whatever, lmao.
Not that im complaining, this will cost you in the CL, congrats with the Copa though!

He’s been rested plenty this season, had 3 weeks off with the injury earlier in the season, rested a game and came on as sub a couple weeks ago. He’s in some of the best form of his life right now and doesn’t look tired or unmotivated.

That's not the type of rest he needs. No matter how long he was rested months ago if he plays five games in a row before the Lyon game he will be tired

We have Valladolid and Vallecano both at home in the games just before the Lyon home and away legs, he'll probably rest in those. But up until this point he's had enough rest.

I'm sure he will rest a bit before it but I thought the way you were talking you wanted him to play every game until the end of the season just because he had a bit of rest at the start of the season. He still should be on the bench tomorrow seen as he's not 100 percent and we have a tough game at bilbao sunday
