He was really close with Pinto but he was never as close with Cesc.

I also kinda feel he has something to say in Suarez playing as much as he does and not getting subbed out when he's shit.
Yes his wife was close to cesc’ milf though. He just hang out often because of that rather than being close like with Suarez.

You can't be that daft to believe that.

Messi is best friends with Suárez and clearly endorses him. Messi has immense influence in Barca, and he uses that both on a off the field.

How naive you are.

Having immense influence is something else then a player picking the team that starts, no way he does that, its Valverde being to conservative/a coward for always going with what he knows.

Messi and his family are very close with Suarez' family. Far closer compared to Cesc and Pinto.

Messi and Suárez are almost ALWAYS together at the facilities, and their friendship off the pitch is very close.

It's not even fucking comparable to Cesc and Pinto.

If Messi went to the middle in place of Suarez, maybe we could also use Coutinho in midfield because the midfield wouldn't need to be as defensive in covering Messi's defensive duties on the right.

Until Arthur is back. I wouldn't mind seeing Rakitic/Vidal-Busi-Coutinho in midfield with Dembele-Leo-Malcom in attack

Fully endorsed though. They are very happy with him being the coward he is along with the subs and bad rotation. Otherwise it would not be happening of course.

Valverde know what shitstorm he would cause if he benched Suárez.

Messi wrath is something Valverde is not interested in hence the decision to keep playing the useless and embarrassing Suárez.

Its kind hard training, hanging out together with people who play for other teams now or are retired so dumb to compare it that way.

We should have a well trained team with chemistry between the players, understanding each other and knowing when to move, where to move, when to ask for the ball, when to stretch the field, when to come closer. Training as a team, working as a team and playing as a team. And on top of that, Messi would be able to show his game. A team who has Messi as a bonus, not as a must to properly works.

But no. Like a lot of people said, every single ball is aimed to him and lots of times he's not well positioned, he's marked by 2 or 3. The team should play like usual, and then when the ball comes to him, he could do something. Forcing moves, forcing passes, just to give him the ball, it's not the way football works.

Barca spent a lot, and will spend even more, but it doesn't matter if you have the best players in their position, if you can't make these best players to play as a team, as a unity, all together.

You keep repeating it but i think its bullshit, there's no indication that he demands that Suarez always plays.
They can still be friends if Suarez sits on the bench for a lot of games, Pinto rarely played yet he was the closest to Leo the last couple of years before he left.

I also think Suarez has plenty of pull due to being Messi’s best friend and all he has done for the club in recent years.
Ever since the beginning in the Netherlands he had absolutely hated being on the bench/subbed. Takes it as an insult regardless of the situation and reacts badly to it. Maybe even worse than messi, even though no coach dares to go there. Its safer to sub young Dembele then. Especially if you are like Valverde and have less balls than a kenn doll.

I think that the biggest problem of Barcelona and even more of the Argentine NT, is that they have not yet understood that you have to build a solid team not around Messi: Messi must be a "simple" added value, not the center around which the team is built.
if Messi is simply 1 of 11 players, and not the centre for 10 players, he (and the team) would perform much better.

Pinto probably would have left years earlier if he wasn't Messi's best friend. He in no way should have been our backup gk for so long

Guys come on let's be honest here. We'll have two biggest midfield tallents in the world next year here (De Jong and Arthur) and maybe even Rabiot but NOTHING will change even if we sell Raki and Vidal. And why is that? Because Barca has NO system in attack.

IMHO midfield did a good job today but our attack was an absolute train wreck. Not even prime Xavi and Iniesta would work with this shit.

Three simple observations:

1. In the first season under Lucho there was an order we had LW-CF-RW (Ney-Suarez-Messi) and it worked perfectly but after that year Messi decided that he won't play as a RW anymore and that brought chaos. Against weaker opponents in La Liga that's not a problem but against big teams in CL that brings many problems. Lucho was trying to find solution for that and he couldn't and same thing is happening to Valverde.

2. Suarez is done and he keeps on playing but even if he wasn't done he couldn't perform in this chaos like he did in 2014/15. Just look at RM home game when he scored 3 goals and ask yourself how was that possible?!

3. For 3 years now we don't have a RW so we are playing 4-3-Messi-2 and that creates two problems. First when opponents close middle of the pitch we are fucked and second we are absolutely vulnerable on that right side because Semedo or Roberto don't have aupport at all. That's the reason why Valverde played them together couple of times in CL and against Real.

It's not popular to shit on Messi here since he is indisputable GOAT, he was and still is our savior but we should admit that he created this hybrid system that clearly doesn't work and which will probably never win CL for us. In the end I don't care what people think but there are only two solutions for this chaos. We should either play Messi as a RW in 4-3-3 or change the system to incorporate him in the middle of our attack since this hybrid shit is predictable as fuck. That being said I am willing to bet that playing him as a false 9 won't work against stronger teams and I am also willing to bet that our LW (Dembouz or Coutinho) would perform much better if there was a proper RW on the other side.

It's ridiculous people actually think that Messi picks the team...

Ultimately, it is the board's fault that Valverde is still stinking up the place as they shouldn't even entertain Messi's or anyone else's opinion in terms of who should or not be the manager. But he should be more vocal about the problems of the team in general. He is our best ever player, the most respected figure in that locker room, the goddamn captain. There are clear defincencies with some of the players, tactics etc., speak the fuck up, have a meeting with the board, players, manager and address them.

I'm afraid he's just confortable in his role and Valverde entertains it so he doesn't give much of a fuck.
